Science is a systematic way of learning about the world through observation, testing, and evidence which contributes in the development and invention of new projects. In this contemporary world the ratio of students opting to learn more about science is decreasing over many countries. This essay will be mainly based on the discussion of causes and effect of this aspect on the upbringing society.
To begin with the reasoning over the declining subject preference toward science by undergraduates is the dedication needed to learn a subject which has a deep research to do and consitancy to give years behind it. The courses are hard to learn and is not a cup to tea for eveyone furthermore needs hours of motivated studying meanwhile labs and projects take up all free time. One of the another issue is the lack of expertize and the way of teaching provided by schools and other eductation platforms as this is the subject which needs an appropriate guidance whereas In schools, science education often narrows down into rigid exam preparation and memorization to hit target grades, draining away the natural wonder of the subject.
A decline in public interest and literacy in science weakens a society's ability to navigate technological advancements, makes communities more vulnerable to misinformation, and hinders economic competitiveness. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the causes (demanding nature of the subject and poor teaching methods) and the effects (weakened societal ability to handle technology and economic decline). However, the development is somewhat uneven. The causes are explored with some depth, but the effects section is quite brief and could have been supported with more concrete examples or a more detailed explanation of the 'ripple effects' mentioned. The position is clear, but the conclusion is underdeveloped, failing to summarize the main points effectively or provide a final thought on the implications of the issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'furthermore', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced. The referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from the difficulty of the subject to the quality of teaching could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body, and conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated language like 'contemporary world', 'technological advancements', and 'economic competitiveness'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'upbringing society', 'consitancy', 'expertize', and 'declination over the development'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the argument. A wider range of collocations and more accurate word forms would be necessary to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and punctuation (e.g., 'is not a cup to tea for eveyone', 'One of the another issue', 'crountries'). Some sentences are run-on or lack necessary commas, which affects readability. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band, as the control over complex structures is not yet consistent.
