Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt (causes and effects), but the development is limited. While you identify reasons such as high costs and the difficulty of science subjects, the explanations are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the point about 'science prefer more efforts' is unclear and underdeveloped. The effects section mentions economic growth, but the argument is not fully explored or supported with specific examples. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples for each point raised, ensuring that your ideas are fully extended rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To commence with' and 'In other words' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. For instance, the transition 'Nevertheless, there are many effects regarding do not choose enough study' is grammatically incorrect and hinders the progression of ideas. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this statement') is clear will significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'expensive' and 'study' throughout the text. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'not much juveniles' (should be 'not many young people') and 'science prefer more efforts' (should be 'science requires more effort'). While you attempt to use some more sophisticated vocabulary like 'multifarious' and 'phenomenon', these are sometimes used incorrectly or in an unnatural way. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in the correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'science study is... it contain'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary complexity to demonstrate a good range of grammar. For example, 'a little students cannot afford' should be 'few students can afford'. Additionally, the misuse of prepositions and verb forms (e.g., 'do not full their dreams') makes the text difficult to follow at times. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors in tense and word order.
