Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development is inconsistent. While you identify factors like language barriers and the shift toward technology, the ideas are often under-developed or lack clear logical links. For instance, the point about families not allowing children to study science is mentioned but not fully explained in the context of modern society. The effects on society are also somewhat vague, focusing on a lack of doctors without exploring broader societal implications. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides a more detailed explanation or example to support your claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Finally' to structure the response, which helps the reader follow the progression. However, the paragraphing is somewhat disjointed, and the transitions between ideas are occasionally mechanical. Some sentences, such as 'Effects on society varies like, their are less students in science department', lack clear logical flow and cohesion. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not effectively summarize the main points. Improving the use of linking phrases and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'hard', 'study', and 'subjects'. There are also instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choice, such as 'very less in ratio' instead of 'a low proportion' and 'words translation' instead of 'translating terminology'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility or precision required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education and societal trends, and focus on using words in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('many students studies'), incorrect article usage, and sentence fragments ('Conclusion, decrease in the number...'). There is a limited range of complex structures, and most attempts at complex sentences contain errors, such as 'Society is build upon the on of the pillar of educational institutes that serve the society so, any change in this system effects the society directly or indirectly.' To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
