Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 192 words long and remains incomplete at the end. While the essay identifies two main points—the complexity of science courses and the resulting manpower scarcity—the development of these ideas is superficial. The arguments lack sufficient depth, and the conclusion is abruptly cut off, preventing a full response to the prompt. To improve, you must expand your analysis with more detailed explanations and ensure the essay is fully completed within the word limit.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'This essay will first' and 'For example', but they are sometimes used mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'these kinds of man power' which lacks a clear antecedent in the previous sentence. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is unfinished, which disrupts the overall logical flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'not ample of students', 'science faculty', and 'scare of manpower'. These errors occasionally impede the natural flow of the text. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education and societal impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'students who wants' (subject-verb agreement), 'science subject has been considered as hardest subject' (article usage), and 'only a few number of student are success' (pluralization and word form). These errors are noticeable throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
