Many international students prefer to study science majors at university. The main reason is their difficulty. As a result, this impacts our society in many industry fields especially this results in the lack of technology.

To begin with, the science majors are extreemely difficult for many students, If a student want to get a high score at science he will need to study for many hours. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 107 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address the causes (difficulty of the subject) and effects (lack of technology), the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or relevant examples. The essay is incomplete, ending abruptly after the introduction of a second paragraph. Because the response is less than half the required length, it cannot fully address the prompt, leading to a low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows a basic attempt at paragraphing, but the structure is incomplete. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'Furthermore' are used, but the text lacks logical progression due to its brevity. The abrupt ending prevents the establishment of a coherent argument. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall flow is disrupted by the lack of content and the unfinished nature of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Words like 'difficult' and 'study' are used frequently without variation. There are spelling errors such as 'extreemely' and minor collocation issues like 'fear of this field'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise academic synonyms and ensuring correct spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies on simple sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('a student want' instead of 'a student wants') and awkward phrasing ('I discovered that when I went to my friend whose major is science'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of complex structures and the presence of frequent errors limit the score.
