Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes and effects. However, the development is inconsistent. While the causes (academic difficulty and social media influence) are mentioned, the explanation is often unclear or illogical, such as the claim that social media shows 'fake news regarding study related doctors'. The effects are also underdeveloped; the example regarding Kuwait is vague and lacks a clear logical link to the broader societal impact. The conclusion is incomplete, ending abruptly after 'To recapitulate,'. To improve, ensure each point is fully explained with clear, logical reasoning and provide a complete, well-structured conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or misused, such as 'Probing ahead' or 'Considering this'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the writer's train of thought. The lack of a proper conclusion significantly impacts the overall coherence of the piece. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider range of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that flows logically into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is often imprecise and sometimes used incorrectly. Phrases like 'contemporary epoch', 'varsity', and 'educators divert their mind' suggest an attempt to use sophisticated language, but the collocations are unnatural or inaccurate. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'carrier' (career), 'decission' (decision), and 'gwoth' (growth). While the range is sufficient to convey the general topic, the frequent misuse of words and spelling inaccuracies hinder the precision of the argument. Focusing on learning common collocations and checking spelling would greatly improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('student are', 'every student require'), article usage ('the numbers of student'), and awkward phrasing ('the technology made a significant difference'). Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and basic sentence structure would be beneficial.
