Student answer (Band 5.0)
This is very common problem in many countries that their are very less percent of students who can choose to study science at university.I think this problem is present in every country.
I am living in pakistan and in our country there are only few students who can select science subjects for study at university and the ratios of science students is two time less than the others as I know same situation is in other countries. The reason behind this problem is that the study of science is too difficult and take more time of students for itself. When students can complete their entermediate graduation they can choose the subjects which they study in university for choosing the subjects they can see two things, the first one is is this subject have good scope and the second is that is this subject is easy for me or can I survive better in this field. When they see that science subject is too difficult and then in their mind soME negative thoughts are built like if they can fail in exams or if they not got good marks there thoughts cannot allow the students to study science at university.
The example for my points is my big brother who select Politics instead of science at university. This problem is very common in every country and it cause many difficulties for students in past.In past when the students can complete their graduation now they went for the jobs, here they face the big [problem which they made itself. The problem is that every one choose arts and their are not much jobs for these students and the science subject field is empty.
By this there is not equal percentage for every profession and students can face difficulties for setting in their career.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development is limited. While you identify the difficulty of science subjects as a cause and the lack of job opportunities as an effect, the arguments lack depth and supporting evidence. The example of your brother is personal rather than illustrative of a broader societal trend. To improve, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of these issues, perhaps discussing the role of government funding, educational infrastructure, or the long-term economic impact on a nation's innovation. The ideas are present but remain at a surface level, which limits the score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often interrupted by awkward phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. You rely heavily on simple sentence structures, and transitions between ideas are often missing or repetitive (e.g., 'The reason behind this problem is...'). The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using linking words like 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in contrast' to connect your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly, ensuring that each point leads logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which restricts your ability to convey complex ideas. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'very less percent' instead of 'a very low percentage' and 'two time less' instead of 'half as many.' You also struggle with collocations, such as 'survive better in this field' or 'setting in their career.' To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise academic terms and demonstrate a better understanding of how words function together in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there are only few students who can select'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in word order or clause construction (e.g., 'if they not got good marks there thoughts cannot allow the students'). To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of articles, pluralization, and consistent verb tenses, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
