Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development is inconsistent. While you identify reasons (perceived difficulty of the subject, student laziness) and effects (economic growth, infrastructure development), the ideas are often under-developed or expressed unclearly. For instance, the link between science and 'economic growth' is mentioned but lacks a logical explanation of how the two are connected. The position is generally clear, but the lack of depth in your arguments prevents a higher score. To improve, ensure each point is fully explained with a clear logical flow rather than just stating the idea.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. Referencing is also problematic; for example, the phrase 'It impact on many factor' lacks a clear antecedent. The internal logic within paragraphs is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which hinders the overall flow of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'hard', and 'science' throughout the text. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'Newways innovation play the crucial role' and 'unable to lunch the new product'. Additionally, there are non-existent words like 'signifile'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise academic terms and ensure that you use words in their correct context. Focus on learning collocations rather than isolated words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'student are pillar', 'science is designed people'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'not opted study science'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors, such as 'If students are not properly it negatively impact on economic growt'. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject, verb, and object, before attempting more complex structures.
