Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development is limited and often unclear. While you mention factors like the job market and technological advancement, the arguments are not fully extended or supported with specific examples. The ideas are presented in a fragmented way, making it difficult for the reader to follow your logic. To improve, you should focus on developing each point with a clear explanation and a concrete example. For instance, when discussing the job market, you could explain exactly how IT roles are perceived as more lucrative than science roles, providing a more cohesive argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of logical progression between sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'So present job market', 'Some on the other hands'). Referencing is frequently unclear, making it hard to identify what certain pronouns refer to. To improve, focus on using transition words more naturally and ensuring that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one. The current flow is disjointed, which hinders the overall readability of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'trended fields', 'miner reasons', and 'obtain job requirments'. These errors sometimes make it difficult to grasp your intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas accurately. To reach a higher band, you should work on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and expanding your range of academic vocabulary. Focus on using words precisely rather than attempting complex terms that you are not yet comfortable using.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Science not doubt was', 'It's make positive impact'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary components to be grammatically complete. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, these are often faulty and lead to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction—ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb—before attempting more complex grammatical forms. Proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency is essential.
