Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt (causes and effects). However, the development of ideas is limited. The causes mentioned—'burden of other subjects' and 'lack of interest'—are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. Similarly, the effects on society are stated in general terms, such as 'low level of inventions' and 'shortage of teachers,' but these points are not fully explored or supported with concrete, logical reasoning. The position is clear, but the overall argument lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and specific examples that demonstrate a deeper understanding of the issue.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal flow between sentences is frequently disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'some of have their different fields,' which lacks a clear subject. The progression of ideas is present but often feels repetitive. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple terms like 'difficult,' 'subjects,' and 'study' throughout the essay. There are also instances of word-choice errors, such as 'it effect to the society' (should be 'it affects society') and 'medical line' (should be 'medical field'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate precision or flexibility. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific terminology related to education and societal development, while paying closer attention to word forms and parts of speech.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement ('some of student choose'), article usage ('in contemporary world'), and sentence structure ('which pupil not take science... it will effect'). Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. While the meaning is generally understandable, the persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb.
