Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the causes for the decline in science students and the effects on society. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development is somewhat basic. For instance, while you mention that subjects are 'difficult' and 'lack interest', these points could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims rather than just stating them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To elaborate', 'Moreover', and 'As a result' are used to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. For example, the phrase 'For example' is used twice in the same sentence in the second paragraph, which disrupts the flow. Additionally, the transition between the causes and the effects could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the overall coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'scientific knowledge', 'innovations', and 'qualified researchers'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'that make them boring' (referring to the subjects) and 'it face a shortage' (grammatical error affecting lexical accuracy). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to education and societal development, and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that detract from the quality of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('not every learner are selecting', 'that make them boring') and incorrect verb forms ('that can effect on society' should be 'affect'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. To improve, focus on correcting basic subject-verb agreement and diversifying your sentence structures by using more complex clauses, while ensuring that these structures remain error-free.
