Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, containing only 71 words. Because the task is not completed, the response fails to address the prompt in a meaningful way. The ideas presented—such as the influence of social media—are relevant but remain entirely undeveloped. There is no attempt to discuss the effects on society beyond a brief, vague mention of 'damages'. To improve, you must provide a full introduction, two body paragraphs exploring the causes and effects in detail, and a conclusion. The current length prevents a proper exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text is too brief to demonstrate a logical progression of ideas or effective paragraphing. While there is a basic attempt to structure the response with an introduction and a start to a body paragraph, the lack of development makes it difficult to assess coherence. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas, and the transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. To achieve a higher score, you need to ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked using appropriate transition words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition'.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is limited and contains several errors in word choice and collocation. For example, 'opting the science' is incorrect; it should be 'opting for science'. The phrase 'social society' is redundant, and 'epitome of any academic' is used incorrectly in this context. There are also spelling errors such as 'insfrastructure' and 'inlcude'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring you use words in their correct grammatical form. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will also help you express complex ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'I believe it will create some damages' (damage is an uncountable noun here) and 'any kind of career people want to invlove' (missing preposition 'in'). The sentence structure is simplistic, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and the distinction between countable and uncountable nouns. Practicing the construction of complex sentences using relative clauses or conditional structures will also help improve your range.
