Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and effects—but the development is limited. While you identify reasons such as the difficulty of science subjects and high tuition fees, the explanation remains superficial. For example, the claim that 'other students get ammpitiating marks with little effort' is unclear and lacks logical support. The effects on society are also vaguely described, with phrases like 'hearting the progress' and 'can not know the facts of surrounding' failing to clearly articulate the societal impact. To improve, you should provide more specific, well-reasoned examples and ensure your arguments are fully developed rather than just stated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often unclear due to awkward phrasing and a lack of logical flow. While you use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In a nutshell', they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not effectively link the ideas. Referencing is also problematic; for instance, the phrase 'due to the these concerns' is grammatically confusing. The internal logic within paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument consistently throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is quite limited and often inaccurate, which hinders communication. There are several instances of non-standard word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'ammpitiating marks' (likely meant 'impressive' or 'high'), 'hazitates to work hard', and 'instrust' (likely meant 'interest'). The repetition of basic words like 'subjects', 'students', and 'field' suggests a restricted vocabulary. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your word choices are appropriate for the context of a formal essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'most of students face' and 'it is doing much effects'. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'if we can not effort we also made our mates effortless'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, and there are several instances of word-order errors. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
