Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes and effects. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you identify reasons like 'intense syllabus' and 'IT sector growth', these points are under-developed and lack specific examples or logical depth. The effects on society are mentioned, such as the 'landscape of healthcare sectors' being undermined, but the connection between the lack of science students and these consequences is not fully explored. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples to support your arguments, ensuring the link between the cause and the effect is clear and logical throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'Nevertheless', their usage is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'Despite this, no use of science i day to day life can be another possible reason if losing interest'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors. To improve, focus on using transition words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear central theme that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'hardcore competitions', 'take involve', and 'no use of science i day to day life'. You also struggle with word forms, for example, using 'reason' instead of 'reasons' and 'soceity' (spelling error). While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'scientific field' and 'healthcare sectors', the overall control is limited, and errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding of your intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that affect readability. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement ('this has leads to', 'this can leads to'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or contain run-on structures that make them difficult to follow. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often marred by errors, such as 'medical field require substantial budget that is unlikely to manage my every familes'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb tenses.
