Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's modern world where everything is getting advanced and modernized like technology and many other things. So this all advancements are possible due to education and science. But in some countries not enough students are choosing to study science at university which is good or not i will be discussing in following next paragrapghs.

On the one hand, some students do not like study science from school life but they had studied that in junior classes because they do not have options as it is compulsory subject but after matrculation, when student moved to colleges and universities they have to choose their subject which they have to study so they opt science and choose commerce, arts, computer. Because they know what they have to do in future so its not bad in choosing other fields. Another cause is everyone know future is based on Artifical Intelligence so they not choosing science that can be a reason too.

On the contrary base, many students are not choosing science will be badly affect on society as there will be shortages of scientists and medical students were if lowers so there will be lack of qualified doctors which can be prove as a serious issue for economy. And one more thing which is even serious threat for society is lack of information related to environmental awareness and how to face any pandemic what to follow precautions who will guide this all, it can lowers productivity of economy.

I conclude that it is not good for everyone not to study science because everyone thought its boring and very much stressful subject, which is not actually. So government should provide information and raise awareness among general public about importance of science in present and even in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as students preferring other fields like commerce or arts, and effects such as shortages of scientists and doctors and a lack of environmental awareness. However, the position is not always clearly maintained, particularly in the introduction where the phrasing 'which is good or not i will be discussing' is overly conversational. Furthermore, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and lack sufficient specific examples or extensions. For instance, the discussion regarding artificial intelligence is vague and abrupt. While the prompt is partially addressed, the overall development corresponds best to a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, but the organization and progression are weak. The introduction contains major run-on sentences and problematic transitional phrases. Paragraphing is attempted, but transitions between ideas are frequently abrupt or mechanical, such as 'On the contrary base, many students...' which is unnatural. Referencing and logical progression are often unclear, causing the reader to pause to connect the thoughts. For example, the leap from students choosing other subjects to artificial intelligence lacks a coherent cohesive link. This overall organization fits the Band 5.0 descriptor profile.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. Examples include phrases like 'study science from school life', 'matrculation', and 'which can be prove as a serious issue'. The writer attempts some less common terms like 'Artifical Intelligence' (misspelled) and 'environmental awareness', but the overall range is limited and minimally adequate. Word choice errors such as 'were if lowers' instead of 'if levels fall' create some difficulty for the reader and prevent the score from reaching Band 6.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, heavily relying on simple sentences connected by coordinating conjunctions or relative clauses, many of which contain punctuation and syntax errors. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as run-on sentences in the opening ('In today's modern world... technology and many other things. So this all advancements...'), subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone know', 'everyone thought its boring'), and incorrect verb forms ('which can be prove'). These errors frequently strain the reader and impede fluent communication, aligning the grammar with a Band 4.5 or 5.0 level.
