Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today's modern world where everything is getting advanced and modernized like technology and many other things. So this all advancements are possible due to education and science. But in some countries not enough students are choosing to study science at university which is good or not i will be discussing in following next paragrapghs.

On the one hand, some students do not like study science from school life but they had studied that in junior classes because they do not have options as it is compulsory subject but after matrculation, when student moved to colleges and universities they have to choose their subject which they have to study so they opt science and choose commerce, arts, computer. Because they know what they have to do in future so its not bad in choosing other fields. Another cause is everyone know future is based on Artifical Intelligence so they not choosing science that can be a reason too.

On the contrary base, many students not choosing science will badly affect on society as there will be shortages of scientists and medical students were if lowers so there will be lack of qualified doctors which can be prove as a serious issue for economy. And one more thing which is even serious threat for society is lack of information related to environmental awareness and how to face any pandemic what to follow precautions who will guide this all, it can lowers productivity of economy.

I conclude that it is not good for everyone not to study science because everyone thought its boring and very much stressful subject, which is not actually. So government should provide information and raise awareness among general public about importance of science in present and even in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as students disliking science from school or opting for fields like commerce and arts, and effects such as a shortage of qualified doctors and a lack of environmental awareness. However, the development of these ideas is rather limited and lacks depth or specific examples. The position is stated informally in the introduction ('which is good or not i will be discussing') rather than being maintained clearly throughout. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of thorough extension and support places this response securely at Band 5.0 according to the descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, though the structuring is somewhat weak, with the introduction containing run-on sentences and conversational transitional phrasing ('i will be discussing in following next paragrapghs'). There is some organizational structure with 'On the one hand' and 'On the contrary base', but cohesive devices are frequently inaccurate or misused, such as 'were if lowers' and awkward referencing throughout the text. Progression is disrupted by grammatical tangles and unclear links between ideas, making the overall flow mechanical and disjointed. This aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, such as 'modernized like technology and many other things', 'good or not', and 'stressful subject'. There are noticeable errors in word formation and choice, including 'matrculation', 'Artifical Intelligence', and 'precautions who will guide this all'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general topic of science education, the frequent errors and limited range mean it cannot achieve a Band 6, fitting more comfortably at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple or awkwardly concatenated clauses connected by coordinating conjunctions. There are frequent and systematic errors in tense usage, sentence boundary punctuation, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'this all advancements are possible', 'everyone know future is based', and 'medical students were if lowers'. These errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and impede the clarity of the argument, characteristic of a Band 4.0 performance.
