Student answer (Band 5.0)
Education has become an integral part of human life from the very early ages. Science is the most prestigious field since history and methodology. People do think that, in the mordrn society childern's diverse roots. In my opinion students are not choosing science due to its course curriculum, strong understanding needed to its diversification.
One of the greatest factors is that initially technology become so advanced all tasks have been managed by artificial intelligence and automated system because of this candidates are a bit scard. If they persue a bachlor's or master's in a STEM field the chances of landing a job should be driven at a very high rate. For instance, research from Harvard University states that in the last 1 year 200,000 jobs from the international job market due to Artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT, Gemini etc. Although candidates are thinking to choose a science subject.
Moreover, professions like entrepreneurship, trade courses are becoming quite popular among students. These profession a bit interesting rather than pursuing a bachelor of computer science or molecular medicine. Similarly if society or universities need their children study a science degree they have to teach them how we can implement these automated systems in our day to day activities to make tasks much more convenient and more effective.
Overall, chasing a career it totally depends on a student's perspective whatever field they want to excel. On the other hand, teaching about moral values , humanity is the task of their parents and society. The Government should motivate childern to excel in which ever fields they want to excel and do provide funding in those fields.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the causes of fewer students choosing science and the effects this has on society. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear. For instance, the student states that candidates are scared because tasks are managed by artificial intelligence, but this point is not fully explained or connected logically to the overall argument. Similarly, the reference to Harvard University regarding job losses due to AI tools lacks clear integration into the discussion of university subject choices. While a position is discernible, the arguments tend to over-generalize and lack sufficient extension. Overall, the task is addressed partially, aligning with the criteria for Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with distinct paragraphs, but there is a lack of clear overall progression and logical flow. Sentences such as 'People do think that, in the mordrn society childern's diverse roots' are disconnected and hinder readability. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inaccurately, as seen with the abrupt transitions between sentences and paragraphs. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal paragraph cohesion is weak, with ideas jumping from AI job losses to entrepreneurship without smooth bridging phrases. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'how we can implement these automated systems'. These features reflect Band 5 Coherence and Cohesion characteristics.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors ('mordrn', 'childern's', 'scard', 'persue', 'bachlor's') and awkward word choices ('chasing a career it totally depends'). The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'entrepreneurship' and 'artificial intelligence', but noticeable errors in collocation and word form cause some difficulty for the reader. For example, 'the chances of landing a job should be driven at a very high rate' is unnatural. The range is minimally adequate for communicating basic ideas, fitting the descriptor for Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a very limited range of structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are numerous grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, such as missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and faulty verb agreement ('childern to excel in which ever fields they want to excel and do provide funding'). Run-on sentences and fragments further disrupt the flow. While simple sentences are sometimes accurate, the high frequency of errors across complex structures causes difficulty for the reader, placing this response firmly at Band 5.
