IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In many countries not enough students are choosing to study science at university. What are the causes of this? What effects does it have on society?
Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.0)
As in many countries students are not willing to study science at university level because the study is a bit tough as compare to others fields other than science. Now students wants to study a easy subject because they wanted to spend their time in other activities as well. Moreover as the science subjects are really hard not every one can learn or pass it so mosy of the students failed their exam so it can also be one of the reason behind students who don't prefer science in their university level. However it is really difficult to manage studying science subject and other life activities because of alot of memorisation of definition and long verbs. I as a student of science i can understand that the subjects are not easy and not everyone has the capability to continue it at the university level. Other than the long paragraphs and definition science subjects has a lot of diagrams to memorise and the leabling is also very tough and hard to memorise so students prefer non science subjects so they can easily study and also have some time for other life activities.
