Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is a fact that in many part of the world university students choose study other subjects and not science. There are several reasons for such a situation and also some circumtances which has been resulted due to this issue of do not prioritized science at university. Both the reasons and the influences are elaborated further.
Examining the reasons, the most common is that finance play an important role in university admission, science field courses have a high fees comparatively and some families cannot afford it. In the other word, some pupils wants to study science but their parents salary is low and fees for this field is like a cost arms and legs, courses such as engineering, R&D , medical course has exorbitant fees. For example , there was a survey happened in canada last month and it is found that large number of students who wants to pursue science however fees are unaffordable and they change their field to study. Moreover, the other cause is learners find that study science is more difficult and comlicated to understand and remember. This means that science have so many formulas , chemical structures and complicated research based theory which is hard to learn for some people.
On the contrary, the mentioned causes have some impacts too. The foremost effect is it seen, in the future there is a high chance that people might have a low knowledge about the new technology and research in the health system. To explain this one main apt example is that Euthopia country in the Africa where there is no proper awareness about science, people there do not have idea what role modern tehcnology and better healthcare play in humans life. Besides this, the other repercussion is that students may loose interest in gaining knowledge about science such as developing new medicines, vaccines or injections , and innovate new types of robotics equipments.
To conclude the topic, it can be finally commented that due to prohibitve costs and difficulties which students believe that the may be faced due to that many people cannot select science as their major at university, and has bad effects on society. So, we should teach and motivate young people to opt science, secondly goverment should focus on fees of university and try to reduce it so more and more learners take a chance to study science at university.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both the causes (high tuition fees and the perceived difficulty of science subjects) and the societal effects (lack of technological awareness and a decline in future medical and technological innovations). The position is clear throughout, and relevant ideas are extended and supported with examples, such as the mention of a Canadian survey regarding fees and the example of Ethiopia regarding societal awareness. However, some ideas border on over-generalisation, and certain explanations are slightly repetitive. Overall, the task is well addressed, earning a Band 6.5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into clear paragraphs with an introduction, body paragraphs for causes and effects, and a conclusion. There is a coherent overall arrangement and logical progression, as transitions from causes to effects are explicitly stated. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical, with awkward linking phrases such as 'On the contrary' used inappropriately to introduce effects rather than a contrast. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feature clunky transitions. Paragraphing is adequate, but internal cohesion requires better control of cohesive devices to reach a higher band. This performance aligns with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'exorbitant fees', 'reputations', and 'R&D'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'many part' instead of 'many parts', 'circumtances which has been resulted', and the idiomatic error 'cost arms and legs' instead of 'costs an arm and a leg'. Spelling errors like 'comlicated', 'tehcnology', and 'prohibitve' also appear. While communication is not impeded, these frequent inaccuracies prevent the score from rising above Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('finance play', 'science have so many formulas'), tense inconsistencies, and awkward phrasing such as 'students choose study' or 'pupils wants'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. Because errors frequently occur and occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader, this performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptors.
