Student answer (Band 5.0)
Earlier, choosing science for studies at institutions was not considered extremely problematic. However, in the current societal landscape, it is witnessed in many nations that less number of students are pursuing science in universities. This essay will discuss viable measures and reasons behind it.
The major reason is that nowdays eduction of science is quite expensive. In other words, most of pupils leave science for future studies due to heavy fee structure of universities that they can't afford and less number of science institutes located nearby. For instance, students in India donot persue science mainly due to these reasons. Moreover, in today era studies are very hard and young generation is less capable of handling stress and pressure related to their studies.
This approach has both negative and positive effects. Nowdays society is facing shortage of doctors and engineers because less number of students are able to pass out from university. Moreover, prices for medical checkups has incresed a lot and communities are facing problem to afford heavy expenses. For instance, Australia is facing shortage of nurses at hospitals due to less number of medical graduates from universities. However, to recover from this situation they are appinting nurses from other nations. Less number of researches are helding due to which world is facing with several climatic and health issues
In my perspective, to encourage them I believe that government should pay incentives to medical students. the major reason of this happening is lack of ability to handle stress and pressure. Moreover, its major effect on society is that they are facing heavy duties on medical treatments and less number reseaches.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the causes of the decline in science students and the effects on society, fulfilling the basic requirements of the task. However, the introduction introduces a contradiction by stating it will discuss "viable measures" rather than the causes and effects requested by the prompt. Furthermore, the conclusion shifts focus into new territory instead of summarizing the main points. Ideas are presented but remain somewhat undeveloped, such as the claim regarding students' ability to handle stress. Examples are provided, such as mentioning India and Australia, but overall development is limited, aligning the response with Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some logical organisation with basic paragraphing corresponding to the introduction, causes, effects, and conclusion. However, the progression is disrupted by abrupt shifts in focus and repetitive phrasing. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, such as the transitions between paragraphs. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in the conclusion where pronouns lack distinct antecedents. There is also a lack of smooth internal cohesion within sentences. These limitations place the performance at a Band 5.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with attempts at less common items such as "societal landscape," "viably," and "graduates." However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including "nowdays," "eduction," "persue," "incresed," "appinting," and "reseaches." Collocations are sometimes awkward, such as "heavy fee structure." While meaning is generally conveyed despite these errors, the lexical control is limited, reflecting the descriptors for a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control is inconsistent. Frequent grammatical errors occur, including missing articles ("less number of students", "shortage of doctors"), punctuation errors, and awkward phrasing. For instance, sentences like "Less number of researches are helding due to which world is facing with several climatic and health issues" demonstrate significant strain in grammatical accuracy and awkward verb forms. Errors frequently cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5.0 criteria.
