Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is an undeniable fact that Major portion of the university undergraduates avoid to choose scientific subjects in many countries. This issue is one of the major problem faced by the world in 21st century. This essay will explore how limited future growth and Technological advancement are root causes of this concern and what possible after facts does it have on the society.
Firstly, The major reason behind this matter is less employment and low future growth after studing scientific programs. The world is now became global village. Situation in one country may visible to the Global channels. For Example, when students learn about the news that hundreds of science graduate are jobless in most of the nations then they become dishearted and avoid to select science as a subject.
Secondly, Another possible cause of this finding is advancement in the field of technology. In this modern world technology became frequient and easy to access. even though, under eighteen children have access to digital gadgets and devices. For Instance, Students became more sluggish and addicted to smartphones. They spent long hours in scrolling on facebook and Instagram. They waste their time to watch useless reels on tiktok and other social media sites. These type of activities made them less attantive toward thought provoking studies. Therefore, they select less critical subjects that are easy to understand without too much attention.
However, there are certain viable effects that can be cosidered to escalate this problem. The primary effect of this menace is shortage of scienticts. If this trend become more aggresive then it might be possible that we may be witness to less scientific innovations in future. Furthermore, another effect, I believe would be shortage of university disciples. For Example, If students abstain from taking admission in scientific departments then authorities may close these departments to tackle their expenditure.
To recapitulate, despite some challenges associated with lower admissions in science subjects, I believe that we should make ways simple for science graduates. So, They get better future growth after completing their studies. Because, If this trend doesn't stop then we may find loss high productive brains in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both causes (lack of future job growth and technological distractions) and effects (shortage of scientists and university department closures). A clear position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or misdirected, such as attributing the decline in science uptake partly to social media addiction rather than purely economic or educational factors. Nevertheless, the main parts of the prompt are covered adequately, and the reasoning provided is generally relevant to the question. There is a minor confusion in the introduction where the author mentions 'Technological advancement' as a cause, but then discusses digital distraction, which relates more to student habits than the advancement itself. Overall, the response meets the core requirements of Task Achievement at a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a clear paragraph structure, utilizing an introduction, distinct body paragraphs for causes and effects, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'However' are employed to guide the reader through the text, although some cohesive devices are used rather mechanically or incorrectly, such as starting a body paragraph with 'However' when introducing an effect rather than a contrast. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but referencing and logical progression occasionally falter due to abrupt shifts in ideas. For instance, the transition from technology usage to study habits lacks a seamless logical link. Despite these minor cohesive flaws, the writing is easy to follow overall, aligning with the criteria for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'thought provoking studies', 'viable effects', and 'scarcity of scientists'. However, there are numerous lexical and collocational inaccuracies throughout the response. Examples include 'Major portion' instead of 'A major portion', 'studing' instead of 'studying', 'became global village' instead of 'has become a global village', 'dishearted' instead of 'disheartened', 'frequient' instead of 'frequent', 'attantive' instead of 'attentive', and 'cosidered' instead of 'considered'. Additionally, phrases like 'loss high productive brains' exhibit awkward word choice and grammatical formulation. These errors somewhat impede communication and prevent the lexical score from reaching the higher bands, placing it firmly at a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures ('If this trend become more aggressive...') and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the essay, with frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, subject-verb agreement, and verb tenses. Examples of errors include 'avoid to choose' instead of 'avoid choosing', 'hundreds of science graduate' instead of 'hundreds of science graduates', 'The world is now became' instead of 'The world has now become', 'news that hundreds... are jobless' instead of 'were jobless', 'under eighteen children' instead of 'under-eighteen children', and 'If students abstain... then authorities may close' where tense consistency is shaky. Furthermore, sentence fragments and capitalization issues (e.g., random capitalization of 'For Example', 'Firstly', 'Secondly') are common. Due to these persistent errors, the grammar score is assessed at Band 5.0.
