Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this concurrent world, it is widely acknowledged that in many universties the fewer number of undergraduates prefer to pursue their higher studies in science field. In this essay, first i will discuss what causes can be create by this trend and also deduce which impacts society can face by this.
There are several causes for why students not prefer to choose science field in universties. First and foremost, nowadays many studends have their own preception about science is very challenging subject for them. Moreover, usually in this modern era most of students prefer to choose short time period course. Where, study as a science student need full dedication or patience. In addition, the graduation fees of science subjects also has significant cost which many people may find difficult to pay. Thus, these reasons are play vital rule to reduce the number of students in science field.
However, this trend also carries some negative consequences for society. To commence with, if the sufficient number of students not show their intrest in science subject, may lead to feel shortage in many professionle carrers such as, doctor, engineer and scientist. These jobs employees play crucial role for society. For example, many people belief that doctors are second form of god, because they can helps patient to relieve from their critical situation by the help of their therotical knowledge. Therefore, falling number of these jobs workers may stand many serious issues for society.
In my opinion, although the major reason of decreasing the number of students in science field, because the excussively amount of university fees. which create less doctors, engineer and scientists. Thus, society can face negative impact such as less experience professionales. From my perspective, the government can provides more scholorships and discount in this particular field may encourage large proportion of pupils.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the causes of fewer students choosing science and the effects this has on society. The writer develops ideas such as the perceived difficulty of science, high tuition costs, and the subsequent shortage of professionals like doctors and engineers. However, some ideas lack depth and tend to over-generalize, which places the response firmly within Band 6. The position is clear throughout, but the development of supporting examples is somewhat basic and repetitive, lacking fully articulated extension.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, starting with an introduction, followed by body paragraphs addressing causes and effects, and a brief conclusion. There is a logical progression overall. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or awkwardly used, as seen in transitions like 'To commence with' and 'Thus, these reasons are play vital rule'. Referencing and substitutions are occasionally faulty, causing minor disruptions to the flow. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, but the internal cohesion requires better control to reach a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'undergraduates', 'theoretical knowledge', and 'professionales'. However, there are frequent word-form and spelling errors throughout the text, including 'universties', 'studends', 'preception', 'therotical', and 'excussively amount'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they highlight a limitation in lexical control that prevents the score from exceeding Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical control is weak. There are numerous basic errors in subject-verb agreement and sentence structure, such as 'fewer number of undergraduates prefer' and 'causes can be create'. Articles are frequently misused or omitted, and prepositions are often inaccurate ('in science field' instead of 'in the science field'). Although the meaning can generally be followed, the high frequency of errors means that error-free sentences are in the minority, corresponding to Band 5 descriptors.
