Student answer (Band 5.5)

Thesedays, in most of the nations not enough learners who are choosing science after their higher studies at university. There are several causes behind as students have less interest in science and with no future security after studies, in the upcoming paragraphs i will discuss these reasons and the impact of this development on society.

To commence with, less number of students are securing the science subject in their university study. Because learners have less interest in science subjects, as they have multiple choises in study category they always prefer to choose the subject but they admire. Such as math, commerce or another study programs have more infulence on students and they follow them more than science. Firstly that subjects are not that much complicated as science is. As a result it has some negative effects on society. If the students will not like to do science study, who can invent things which we are using today or we need as piece technology. This development causing less inventions since previous decade, according to world top class newspaper the numbers of people science field had been dropped from 80% to 30% in recent years because of fewer graduates in science field.

The another reason is no future security for students. Nowadays, learners after completing their school study, do prefer to do study in most preferable are quick job availabilty jobs to secure their future as soon as possible. If they choose the study in science is not quick option for them, it takes more time to complete and develop their further future. For instance, "A study is conducted by Oxford university in 2020, which illustrates that science classes are more longer and more stressed according to 20 thousands" which reducing their numbers to choose science for higher study. It is negative development for those parents who want their children to be a researcher in science field.

To conclude with, it is clear that students no more interested top choose science with no future security.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as lack of student interest and job security, and effects like a decline in inventions and fewer graduates. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the explanation regarding why students prefer other subjects relies on sweeping generalisations ("Firstly that subjects are not that much complicated as science is"). Furthermore, the citation of statistics ("numbers of people science field had been dropped from 80% to 30%") is not fully integrated into a well-argued academic discussion. While all parts of the prompt are addressed and a clear position is established, the supporting evidence tends to be underdeveloped, aligning the response with Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. The writer attempts to link ideas using transitional phrases like "To commence with" and "The another reason is", but errors in collocation ("securing the science subject") and repetitive referencing disrupt the natural flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the second body paragraph is quite dense and combines multiple ideas that would have benefited from clearer separation. Overall organisation is present, but progression is hindered by awkward transitions and mechanical cohesive devices, placing this criterion at Band 5.5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, touching upon relevant themes such as "university study", "researcher", and "inventions". However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices throughout the text, such as "securing the science subject", "choises", "study category", and "more longer". Spelling errors like "Thesedays" and "infulence" also occur. While the vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, the frequent errors in word choice and spelling prevent the response from achieving a higher band, making Band 5.0 the most suitable descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though control over complex structures is weak and frequently faulty. For instance, sentences like "If the students will not like to do science study, who can invent things which we are using today or we need as piece technology" contain severe grammatical errors in tense usage and clause structure. Frequent errors in articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., "The another reason is", "classes are more longer and more stressed") cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and impede comprehension at times. This corresponds to a Band 5.0 level of grammatical accuracy.
