IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many countries not enough students are choosing to study science at university. What are the causes of this? What effects does it have on society?

Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 4.5)

In many countries students are not choosing to study science at university has many reasons. Many countries dont have facilities, budget and knowledge about how science is important in there everyday life. Countries dont have budget to establish science labs and experimental labs, they dont have any support or facility to provide student a science lab. And the second reason is that the government dont know the importance of science subject. The third reason is the choice of student, as many subject besides of science are introduced. Students choose a modern subject new to society and more convinient. Science subjects like chemistry, physics, biology, or any other science related engineering subject were choosen by majority of the students in past. So the students need a change is there dailylife and society. The new subjects like Ai and modern world subjects looks more interesting to students and also they think that the upcoming years this subject will be the most demanded. So the students are also predicting there choice. As also the rapidly growing technological inventions in artificial inteligence products, lunch of new and automated systems, student should give interests in these subjects. But however, we cant run away from science, even the Ai and robotice is created by science. One more reason that the students are not choosing the science subjects is that the fee structure of these subjects. The universites should make an average fee structure of these subjects that anyone who wants to study can happily afford. Otherwise there are many severe effects on our society.
