Student answer (Band 5.0)
Students are not involving to study in the science subjects in many nations because they do not have enough time to read and cost of choosing these subjects in the institutions are high. There are many effects on the society and on the country itself.
Today world is a past paced society and many students do not take part in science subjects because they are to much busy due to use of mobile and sports activities. However, science ia very techanical subject and want a deeper knowledge to understand its theories.
There are primary reasons why learners do not want to learn science subjects. firstly, students prefer sports like cricket and volleyball because science is more challenging for them .Mostly learners spent their time to play cricket and swimming in the hole day and that is why they do not have enough time to read and write scientific subject .Secondly, scientific institutions are paying more charges from the students and the students are belong to poor family and background. That's why they do not get quality of eduction in the same subjects.
They may have a poisonous impact on the society itself because in this regard our health system and space technology will be effected badly. those things will be effected than our economy will fall down and the amount of deaths will be increase and our infrastructure will be torn down.
In conclusion, govt should be set up equal quality of education in all the subject and shoud provide free education for all the learners then our country will be grow and our students shall be easily involved in the science subjects.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the causes of declining science student numbers and the effects on society. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear. For instance, the discussion on causes shifts abruptly between time management, mobile phone usage, and high institutional costs. Similarly, the effects on society are framed in extreme terms, such as a 'poisonous impact' and 'infrastructure will be torn down,' which lack clear elaboration or realistic examples. While the writer outlines a position and identifies relevant themes, the arguments remain underdeveloped, aligning closely with the criteria for Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with distinct paragraphs, including a clear introduction and conclusion. However, there is a lack of overall progression and logical flow between sentences and paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'Firstly' followed by 'Secondly', but followed by abrupt transitions into societal impacts. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in 'those things will be effected than our economy will fall down'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal coherence within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by disconnected statements. This level of organization reflects the descriptors for Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally hinder clarity. Words like 'involving to study' instead of 'choosing to study', 'past paced' instead of 'fast-paced', and 'techanical' instead of 'technical' demonstrate a limited control of word choice and spelling. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'infrastructure' and 'economy', but errors in collocation and formation—such as 'amount of deaths will be increase' and 'paying more charges'—cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. These features place the lexical performance firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the adequacy of basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences or faulty complex constructions. Frequent errors are present throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'the students are belong' and 'amount of deaths will be increase', as well as persistent tense and preposition errors ('spent their time to play', 'in the hole day'). Punctuation and capitalization are also problematic, with missing spaces after periods and commas. Because these frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and accurate complex structures are rare, the grammar score corresponds to Band 4.0.
