Science is a subject of new innovations, some new findings and human living is heavely dependent on science. In students science is a subject they are ignoring to study. This essay will cite various reasons and explanation for the same in upcoming paragraphs.

To embark upon, children feel that science is becoming difficult day by day. Mainly because of lack of interest for this subject. Moreover students do feel that their percentage is dropping because of science subject as they are not scoring good in exams and due to this their overall percentage effects badly. However, in schools science is taught in a way that makes it boring which makes this subject less liked by students. Many students report that they are not getting jobs in science field and this is also a main cause of students not showing interest.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the causes of students avoiding science and the effects this has on society. However, the ideas are relatively basic and lack sufficient depth and development. For instance, the causes mentioned, such as 'lack of interest' and science being 'difficult', are stated rather than thoroughly explained. Similarly, the societal effects—claiming that people rely on 'false rituals and believes'—are somewhat sweeping and under-developed. While the prompt's requirements are met in terms of addressing both questions, the overall development corresponds to a Band 5.0 or 6.0 level. The arguments would benefit significantly from more specific examples and extended explanations to reach higher band descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, body paragraphs for causes and effects, and a brief conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and mechanical cohesive devices, such as 'To embark upon' (which is unnatural usage) and 'On the other hand' used to introduce societal effects rather than a contrasting argument. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes faulty, making it occasionally difficult to follow the logical flow of arguments. Referencing is also weak in places, such as 'explanation for the same' and 'effects badly'. These structural and cohesive weaknesses align the response with Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, but it lacks the range and precision expected at higher bands. The student relies heavily on repetitive and simplistic phrasing, such as 'science is a subject', 'students find difficult', and 'percentage is dropping'. There are also several noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'heavely dependent' (heavily), 'effects badly' (affects badly), and 'studyed well' (studied well). While some less common lexical items are attempted, such as 'innovations' and 'misconceptions', the frequent inaccuracies and limited vocabulary flexibility cap this criterion at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple and somewhat repetitive sentence patterns. When the student attempts more complex constructions, errors frequently occur, such as 'People who do not showed any interest' (did not show) and 'This essay will cite various reasons and explanation'. Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent throughout the text. Frequent grammatical errors cause occasional strain for the reader, particularly with verb forms, tense consistency, and pluralisation. These persistent inaccuracies and the limited control over complex forms place the response firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
