It is argued that in most of the nations students do not give preference to science subject at educational institutes such as university. Although it has some reasons why students do not choose the science field, I has negetive impact on the society as well as its environment. This essay will discuss the causes of this issue and effects.
To commence with the reason why students do not choose science subject is that it is time consuming and difficult to learn. To elaborate, students give more preference to other conventional subjects rather than science because they consider it more difficult subject to study and takes a lot of time. For instance, some students who are trying to get good score in their academic performance, they do not spend time on science as it is time consuming task. Consequently, pupils do not want to pursue science subject as their academic studies.
However, it has also some negative impact on society. The major is lack of reliable knowledge about environment. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by attempting to discuss both the causes and effects of students choosing not to study science. However, the ideas remain quite limited and under-developed throughout the essay. For instance, the discussion on causes simply states that science is 'time consuming and difficult to learn' without providing concrete context or deep elaboration. Similarly, the effects on society are framed broadly around environmental knowledge and social activities like 'plantation, recycling and experiments,' but the connection is not fully explained. The writer's position is somewhat discernible in the introduction and conclusion, but the overall development lacks depth and fails to extend arguments thoroughly, resulting in a partial treatment of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation evident in the essay, with a clear attempt at paragraphing separating the introduction, the causes, the effects, and the conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression from one idea to the next. Cohesive devices are sometimes used, but they tend to be repetitive or mechanical, such as 'To commence with' and 'To elaborate'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'It is argued that in most of the nations students do not give preference to science subject...' where the logical flow between sentences stumbles slightly, creating a somewhat disjointed reading experience.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is rather limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are instances of awkward word choice, repetition, and spelling errors, such as writing 'negetive' instead of 'negative' and referring to 'science subject' in the singular form where plural is typically expected. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'conventional subjects' and 'adversative effect', these attempts are marred by collocation issues and inaccuracies in word form, restricting the range of vocabulary to a basic level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple forms alongside faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors in the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('it has negetive impact', 'science subject play a crucial role'), article omissions, and awkward phrasing like 'I has negetive impact'. Furthermore, clauses are often linked awkwardly, resulting in sentences that lack structural control. Punctuation and grammatical errors persist throughout, causing occasional strain and difficulty for the reader in following the intended meaning.
