Student answer (Band 5.5)

These days in different countries most of the people are taking to study business studies and Art rather science at university. Many commentators are of the view that people are less focusing on science because after the graduation the scope of employement is less than the other study scotors, whereas other people feel that, science is thougher than the other subjects in university level. In this eassy, I will examine that about the reasons and its effect of this society.

Genarelly speking, now a days people are more interested about the Arts and others subjects because of it's wide range of working oppurtunities and creative values. Perharps the main why students are doing that is in recent times young people are more concern about their carer, so they are morelikliy giving more attention to the other sctors like Arts, business, agriculture and so on. As a result, at the university level science is less demanding subject now a days. In addition, in the university level expanse of higher studies in science is relatively high than the others subjects. For example, If we are looking at the Norwegien university for masters programe, where Arts and Business tution fees cost 60,000 Nok per year but for science this fees rise at 90,000 Nok.

Due to the multiple fectors, in recent days people are moving to Arts and Commerce after the higher secondary level this is because many sctors in science area is vacant, very low number of scientist are contributing in different sectors like environment, livestock, data science and so on. As people are less interseted about the science issues in university level, this is directly effect the research and new innovation. If this trend going more longer then our socity is facing scientiest crisis as well as less reserch and new innovation.

In conclusion, it is must be said that to inspire and motivate the student at the university level to taken science autorities must taken some effective stepts.Having cosider the situation the cost of the higher studies of science must be taken care and we must create the more scientiest , because the research and new innovation must go on for our future genaration.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by attempting to discuss both the causes of declining science enrollments and the effects on society, yet the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the causes are touched upon through career motivations and tuition fee comparisons, such as noting that Arts and Business tuition fees at a Norwegian university cost 60,000 Nok compared to 90,000 Nok for science. However, the connection between these points and the broader societal impacts lacks depth, resulting in a partial treatment of the task. The writer attempts to take a position throughout the essay, but the overall development of ideas feels repetitive, particularly in the discussion of future innovation and researcher shortages. To reach the next level, the writer needs to extend their arguments further, providing fully elaborated explanations and more substantial examples for both causes and effects rather than relying on generalized statements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization evident in the division of paragraphs into an introduction, body paragraphs addressing causes and effects, and a conclusion, yet there is a lack of clear overall progression. While transitional phrases like 'In addition', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion' are employed, cohesive devices are at times inadequate, repetitive, or mechanically applied. For example, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence starting with 'Due to the multiple fectors, in recent days people are moving...', which leads to a convoluted flow of ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical progression within the paragraphs requires sharper framing to guide the reader smoothly from causes to consequences. To improve, the writer should ensure that each paragraph has a distinct central topic and that cohesive devices are used more flexibly and accurately to establish clear logical relationships between sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message, featuring noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts less common lexical items, such as 'employement', 'scotors', 'oppurtunities', and 'programe', but these attempts are frequently marred by spelling and word-form errors. Additionally, vocabulary choices like 'scope of employement is less' and 'science is thougher' show restricted control over collocation and word choice. There is also frequent misspelling of common words throughout the text, including 'eassy', 'Genarelly', 'speking', 'carer', 'sctors', 'expanse', 'Norweign', 'fectors', 'interseted', 'scientiest', and 'socity'. To achieve a higher score, the writer must expand their lexical range, demonstrate greater precision in word choice and collocations, and pay much closer attention to accurate spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple forms alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement, articles, plurals, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Examples of these frequent errors include 'most of the people are taking to study', 'people are less focusing on science', 'after the graduation', 'at the university level expanse of higher studies', and 'authorities must taken some effective stepts'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and impede clarity. To progress, the writer needs to increase the variety of error-free complex structures, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules such as verb forms and prepositions, and exercise stricter control over punctuation to ensure greater accuracy.
