Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays in most of the countries many students are not intrested in studying science subjects anymore due to the fact that they found it harder as compared to other subjects. As a result, it imposes many negative impacts on the society it leads to the shortage of nurses and doctors.
Most of the students do not study science in universities because it is difficult for them to understand. This is because many learner faces problems in getting ideas from the text it as even harder for them know the details about the environment and some time they are not intrested in that anymore. For instance, if a student is unable to understand physics, bio or chemistry he may get failed in his exams. As a result now students do not pay much attention to it.
If the lerners do not take science as their primary subject in university it can have negative impact on the society. It will leads to the shortage of nurses and and less number of doctors would be available there to treat people. As we have seen it when the Corona Virus was breakout there was less nurses and doctors available as needed which results in a huge desaster many people died because they were not treated by time and there was not enough doctors and nurses present at the movement to start treatment. As a result , many people lost their lives due to the shortage of the concerned department.
In conclusion, although it is better to think about your future, I believe that students should also take part in science subjects to help and serve their people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding the causes of fewer students studying science and the effects on society, earning a passing standing for this criterion. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed throughout the essay. While the writer touches on the difficulty of the subjects as a cause and the shortage of medical professionals as an effect, these points lack deep exploration and supporting evidence beyond a broad mention of the Corona Virus. The position is generally apparent, but the arguments would benefit from greater extension, more specific examples, and a more thorough analysis of why students avoid science disciplines. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully flesh out each main idea with well-supported explanations rather than relying on brief, generalised statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible structure containing an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate the causes and effects, which helps readers follow the general flow of ideas. Nevertheless, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty, as seen with repetitive connectors and slightly unclear referencing. For instance, transitional phrases like 'As a result' are overused across consecutive sentences without varying the cohesive devices. To progress further, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices, ensure smoother transitions between sentences, and maintain clear logical progression throughout every section of the writing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey the basic message of the prompt. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word forms that sometimes cause difficulty or require the reader to pause, such as 'intrested', 'learner' instead of learners, 'lerners', and 'desaster'. The range is restricted mostly to common everyday terms, and while the writer attempts some less common vocabulary, the inaccuracies in collocation and spelling constrain the effectiveness of the expression. To achieve a higher band, the student must expand their range of vocabulary, improve spelling accuracy, and practice the correct forms and collocations of academic terms related to education and society.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing exhibits a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are frequently faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, such as 'many learner faces', missing articles, punctuation slips like unnecessary commas before conjunctions, and run-on sentence constructions. These recurring errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To move up to the next level, the writer needs to demonstrate better control over complex sentence patterns, ensure consistent agreement between subjects and verbs, and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical inaccuracies across all sentence types.
