Student answer (Band 5.0)

In most of the countries, students are chosing other then science subjects at university level. There are multiple causes of it like availability of better carrer choices in the tech industry and it has a positive effects on the society.

Now a days, for youth there are multiple fields available for them which they can opt and make their living on batter economic grounds. For example, tech industry is booming and due to artificial intalligence every thing is moving towards automation so there are better earning oppertunities in tech field then from science field.

As per the world recent scenrio, alot of wars are happening all around globe and same as tech, the wapons making industry is also high paying which is attracting young talent, For instance, recently volkswagen recently closed one plant in germany for auto industry and converted it into wapones making plant.

There are people who advocate that students should go for science subjects as we can already see shortage on staff in medical field as well as shortage in researh centres but i think with AI automation and related things we will be able to cope up this issue at some extent in near future. For example in China already most of the small medical centres and science related fields are handled by roborts very well.

In conclusion, I would say its good students aremakinf good decisions by choosing subjects other then science and it is the main cause of compatitiveness in other field and world is progressing towards more effective use of human resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify two plausible causes—better-paid technology work and opportunities in weapons manufacturing—and you state a position that declining science enrolment is beneficial. However, the task asks for the effects on society, and this part is only partly addressed: you mention staff shortages in medicine and research, then dismiss the concern by predicting that AI and robots will solve it. The response does not explain the wider consequences of fewer science graduates, such as reduced research capacity or slower medical innovation. Your examples, including the Volkswagen plant and Chinese medical centres, are relevant in intention but need clearer explanation and support. Develop both the causes and the social effects more fully, and make your position consistent with the evidence you present.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs about technology and weapons, a paragraph on counterarguments, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression is not always clear. The opening says the trend has a positive effect, while the later paragraph acknowledges shortages in medicine and research, so the relationship between these points needs to be made explicit. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “In conclusion” are used, but connections between ideas are sometimes abrupt, particularly the shift from global wars to the Volkswagen example. Improve the logical sequence within paragraphs and use clearer references to show how each example supports the main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “automation,” “earning opportunities,” “shortage,” and “research centres,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or informal choices make parts difficult to understand. Phrases such as “make their living on batter economic grounds” and “cope up this issue at some extent” are not natural collocations. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “chosing,” “intalligence,” “oppertunities,” and “roborts,” which reduce clarity. Aim for more precise academic phrasing and check spelling carefully. For instance, explain that students may be attracted by “higher salaries and stronger employment prospects” rather than relying on broad expressions such as “better earning opportunities.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences, including “There are people who advocate that students should go for science subjects as we can already see shortage on staff in medical field,” but complex structures are often faulty. Errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction occur frequently: “it has a positive effects” has incorrect agreement, while “there are better earning opportunities in tech field” needs clearer article use. The sentence beginning “As per the world recent scenario” also combines several ideas without reliable punctuation, making the relationship between them hard to follow. Most sentences remain simple or are joined with basic connectors, so the range is limited. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check each clause for subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
