Student answer (Band 6.0)

A plethora of students are choosing alternative course rather than choosing science as career path in the university. The main cause of that is science is the career field with demanding hardwork, time and money. and the repurcursion from that is there are not enough working profession in a nation. so, in the forthcoming paragraphs, i have associated some explanation for the reason and also cast light upon the effect due to this trend.

The first and foremost reason is that science demands a time span of 18 years minimum to become a working professional or specialist, along with that it also demands a huge amount of monetary investment and hardwork from students, while some alternative course such as digital marketing, law and order and teaching field are not much demanding and time taking. Some indiuviduals are not enough capable to pay high fees around lakhs of ruppess to acess study in medical field or any further science related fields. Science subject ivovles some complex and ardours mathematical proble and diagram in biology that a student may be not able to understand that or to learn that, while physics and chemistry involves long and hectic practicals around chemicals and mathemaatics and students find that brathtaking. In some areas of science such as general surgeon and egineering courses took a long years to become a worjing identity and this time span do not garuntee that you would succed or not. Consequently, these high demands of science field make it boring, non-convinent and hard to understand.

The effect of these trend is that it affects badly to the society as there is a shortage of reaserchers, biologist and specialist. Due to this shortage country people suffer a myraid of diseases and the country's reputation will be deminished. Apart from that country would have to rely upon other countries for help of vacinnes and medication. Nation would have to suffer from an increase in death rate and decrease in population due to unimproved and pathetical healthcare sector and working sector. Country would not get a considerable place among the world community and will be conqured by other countried in war due to this kind of underdeveloped infrastructure and fragile condition of population.

to conclude, as science demands more hardwork, monetary investment and time span stuedent find it breathtaking as the subjects included are also hard to understand while other couse provide a cluter free educational enviroment. As there is a huge fall in number of students belong to science education will create a massive shortage leading to exploitation of a country and making the country less reputable and increasing the death rates.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question and maintain a clear overall explanation: students may avoid science because it requires substantial time, effort and money, while society may face shortages of researchers and healthcare specialists. The examples of lengthy training and high fees help make the causes relevant. The effects are also identified, including reliance on other countries for vaccines and medicines. However, some consequences—such as a country being conquered in war or its population decreasing—are asserted without enough explanation, and the discussion focuses heavily on healthcare rather than showing a wider range of social effects. To strengthen the response, develop the links between fewer science graduates and specific outcomes, and support broader claims with plausible examples or more careful qualification.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the answer, and phrases such as “The first and foremost reason” and “The effect of these trend” signal the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by long strings of ideas, and some linking expressions feel mechanical or do not clarify the relationship between claims. For example, the move from shortages of specialists to national reputation and military vulnerability is abrupt. The conclusion largely repeats earlier points rather than synthesising them. Group related effects together and use clearer cause-and-effect links to make the argument flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a broad range of vocabulary, including “monetary investment,” “specialist,” “shortage,” and “rely upon,” which helps communicate the topic. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “repurcursion” for “repercussion,” “working identity” for a qualified professional, “brathtaking” where you appear to mean “overwhelming,” and “cluter free educational enviroment.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “science as career path” and “a huge fall in number of students belong to science education.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than ornate phrasing. Building a reliable set of topic-specific expressions and checking spelling and word forms would improve precision and readability.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including explanations with “while,” “as,” and “due to,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and verb forms recur. For example, “The main cause of that is science is the career field” needs a clearer clause structure, while “these high demands … make it boring” has an unclear pronoun reference. In “Some areas of science … took a long years,” the verb form and singular/plural construction are inaccurate. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly at sentence beginnings. Practise building shorter, controlled sentences first, then combine ideas using accurate subordinate clauses and check agreement and articles.
