Student answer (Band 5.5)
Education plays a vital role in shaping individuals and developing a progressive society. In few nations limited learners prefer to study sceince as a subject foe their higher education. There are many causes and effects of this phenomena and thiss eassy will discuss few of them in upcomming paragraph.
To commence with, one of the main cause of this situtation is that more and more students are choosing to have bussinesses. As they are more profitable and be their own boss because they can adjust their working hours according to themselves which provide them more independence. The second main cause may be due to lack of interest in science subject as at some point learners find id boring due to which they switch their study to another field that is not related to science. As a result, number of pupils decrese in classes of science.
Moving further, several effects can be seen. The first one is in number of experiments as they decrease less researches will be done due to which common citizens will not be able to get right information and will start beleiveing in superstition. Additionally, vacant jobs will be observed in some professions like doctors, engineer and scientist due to which less discoveries will be done. And people become more and more sick beacuse of lack of proper treatment and less awareness of new diseases.
To conclude, in my opinion it is crucial to have science students as they are able to build stronger economny for the country by keeping citizens away from superstition and illness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the question: it identifies causes, including students’ preference for business and reduced interest in science, and describes effects such as fewer research projects and shortages of doctors, engineers and scientists. The concluding view that science students support a stronger economy also gives the response a clear overall direction. However, some ideas are more fully addressed than others. The business explanation focuses on independence and flexible hours but does not clearly explain why this draws students away from science, while the effects on citizens are asserted rather than supported with a specific example. Develop each point by explaining the cause-and-effect link and illustrating one consequence, such as how fewer researchers could slow medical advances or innovation. This would make the relevant ideas clearer and more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on effects, and a conclusion. The progression from causes to consequences is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “Moving further,” and “To conclude” help identify each stage. However, some linking is mechanical, and connections within sentences are not always clear. For example, “As they are more profitable and be their own boss” is not smoothly attached to the preceding claim, and “as they decrease less researches will be done” makes the relationship difficult to follow. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the logical links explicit with clear sentence structures and reference words. This would improve cohesion while preserving the effective paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate its main points, including “experiments,” “researches,” “professions,” “discoveries,” and “treatment.” It also attempts phrases such as “progressive society” and “proper treatment.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “sceince,” “businesses” where the intended meaning appears to be business studies or careers, “boring” for a subject, and “vacant jobs” for unfilled positions. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “number of experiments” when discussing research output. Build a more accurate set of topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully; this will make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is an attempt to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “due to which.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but some sentence structures are faulty and punctuation is inconsistent. For instance, “As they are more profitable and be their own boss” is an incomplete, unbalanced clause, while “The first one is in number of experiments as they decrease less researches will be done” combines several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries. There are also errors in agreement and articles, as in “one of the main cause” and “in science subject.” Practise building complete sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses accurately. More reliable control of these patterns would improve readability.
