Student answer (Band 5.5)
Students not choosing to study the science subject at universities has become an increasingly common issue in many countries of the world. This essay will discuss the main causes of this problem and how it has a impact on the society.
There are several reasons why students nowadys are not showing interest in studing the science subject. One of the main causes is that, they don't have access to science laboritaries where they can apply their theoritical concepts. Universities are only focusing on the theoritical part. This leads to building low interest in learners willing to study this subject. For instance, in the China students are instructed to focus more on pracitcal science activies then theoritical concepts. That is the reason, students from the china top the charts in global science exam compettions, In addition, many universities offer science subject as an elective course to the students. This results in students take easier course instead of harder and important one which can be more beneficial in future. For instance, Chinese universities have made science subject as compulsory for students in order to complete their degree.
Students not choosing to study in science subject can also have effects on the society. One of the main effects is that, in future there will be more demand of science field related jobs than than the supply. With each passing day, there have been continious developement in technologies because of sciene related roles. This highlights the importance for the sudents to opt the sciecne subject. A good example of this is that, it is now being predicted that AI/Science fields will take cover the most of jobs in all parts of the world. This will result in more advancements in the country.
In conclusion, the low interest in students to sutdy the science subject is mainly caused by not having access to the laboritaries where they can apply the theoritical concepts. Furtheremore, students are having a options to choose their coures by themselves. This also leave a big effect on the society as there will more science field releated jobs and less people to fill up those roles.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question by identifying limited practical facilities and elective course choices as causes, then discussing a possible shortage of science workers as a social effect. These ideas are relevant, but the response only partially develops them. For example, the point about laboratory access is supported by a comparison with China, yet the link between practical teaching and students’ choices is not fully explained. The claim that AI and science will account for most jobs is broad and needs a clearer explanation of how fewer graduates would affect society. Your conclusion restates the main points, but does not add depth. Develop each cause and effect with a specific, carefully explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and effects, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use signposting such as “One of the main causes,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The China example is followed by “In addition,” but the relationship between the example and the next point is not made explicit. In the effects paragraph, the move from a shortage of workers to technological development and then to job predictions is difficult to follow. Some references, such as “This,” have an unclear antecedent. Make the links between claims explicit and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “science laboratories,” “theoretical concepts,” “elective course,” “demand,” and “supply,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, sometimes making the reader pause: “studing,” “laboritaries,” “continious developement,” and “sciene related roles.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “study the science subject,” “take easier course,” and “take cover the most of jobs.” These errors keep the vocabulary from being consistently clear and appropriate. Work on accurate spelling and natural collocations, and use more precise terms for the causes and consequences rather than repeating “science subject” and “students.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “where they can apply their theoretical concepts” and a conditional-style prediction about future job demand. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “how it has a impact,” “This results in students take,” “there have been continuous development,” and “there will more science field related jobs.” These show problems with articles, verb patterns, agreement, and missing auxiliary verbs. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly the comma splice and capitalisation in “competitions, In addition.” Practise checking each sentence for a complete verb structure and correct agreement, while varying sentence patterns accurately.
