Student answer (Band 5.5)

Numerous students from most of the countries are not selecting science as there field of the study.Well, i think this may cause a serious effects on the development of the socities. In my view, the main reasons behind this lack of facilities and job assurance in their region.

Initially, the reason of not picking up the science is due to the lack of their interest, caused by the lack of facilities in their universities.Mostly institutes have deficiency of the mechanical devices which are used in practical studies of science, also the teaching staff is not efficient enough to teach and develop there interest in studies. As far as i remember, there was not basic tools on our institute, when we were studying there, so we had to just theoratically read the ideas.

Moreover, the other cause of not selecting science as there feild is the deficiency of jobs and lack of future market in their country. Many of them have to travell across the countries to hunt jobs for them. For example, there are not much jobs for science students in our country. One of my friend, who choose the chemistry as his feild of speciallization had to move abroad for his job and futher research.

To sum up, There are several reasons behind not picking it as a field including methodology of studies and future scope. As far as i am concerned, this could have an serious impact on society, including its development. As the world is revolutionizing the government and authorities should show concerns about this issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both causes and effects, and your position is that limited university facilities and weak job prospects discourage students from studying science. The examples about inadequate practical equipment and your friend moving abroad to find chemistry work make the causes more concrete. However, the effects are only briefly stated: you mention a “serious” impact on society and its development, but do not explain what that impact would be, such as fewer scientific innovations or a shortage of skilled professionals. Some claims, including that students lack interest, are also asserted rather than clearly explained. Develop the social consequences with specific cause-and-effect reasoning, and make sure each main idea is supported, to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting causes, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Initially,” “Moreover,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the discussion. However, both body paragraphs focus on causes, so the effects do not receive a distinct, logically developed section; this weakens the progression from the question’s first part to its second. Some links are also mechanical, and references such as “this” in “this could have an serious impact” do not clearly identify the specific consequence. Organise the response around causes and effects, use clearer references, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “facilities,” “practical studies,” “future market,” and “field of specialization,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making the meaning less natural. For example, “lack of future market” is unclear, while “hunt jobs for them” and “picking it as a field” are awkward in this context. Spelling errors such as “theoratically,” “speciallization,” and “travell” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of expressions for university study, employment prospects, and social consequences, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentences, for example, “the reason … is due to the lack of their interest, caused by the lack of facilities,” and use clauses to introduce examples. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and frequent errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the writing difficult to read. Examples include “there field of the study,” “a serious effects,” and “there was not basic tools”; the final sentence also has an unclear construction in “the government and authorities should show concerns about this issues.” Capitalisation of “i” and sentence openings is inconsistent. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation in longer sentences.
