Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both causes and effects, and the examples of lengthy medical training and doctor shortages in rural Bangladesh are relevant. However, the ideas are only partly developed: the explanation that inexperienced teachers create fear is asserted rather than illustrated, and the effects of scientific illiteracy and misinformation are difficult to follow. The conclusion is also cut off after “for this society have a g”, so it does not clearly summarise the effects or complete your response. The response is 244 words, six short of the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, explain each cause-and-effect link more fully and finish with a complete conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and effects, and an attempted conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two parts of the question. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “societal issues and norms are being issued with fake science” does not clearly show how fewer science students lead to this outcome. Connectors such as “In addition” and “However” are used, but “However” does not express a clear contrast in its sentence. The unfinished final sentence also disrupts the overall flow. Use clearer topic sentences and explain links explicitly, rather than relying mainly on transition words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific illiteracy,” “financial stability,” and “shortage of doctors,” which helps convey relevant ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make meaning difficult to understand. For instance, “a insignificant numbers” and “constitution among residents” do not express the intended ideas clearly; “fake science” is also imprecise in this context. There are spelling errors such as “univesity,” alongside repeated use of general words such as “subjects” and “society.” Build a more precise vocabulary for causes and consequences, and check collocations and word forms so that your ideas are expressed naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “whereas” and “because,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement, articles, and verb forms occur frequently: “One of the main reason is,” “which resulting fear,” and “society face downfall” are examples. The final sentence is incomplete, and several sentences combine ideas without clear grammatical links, which can make the meaning hard to follow. Most structures are simple, with limited accurate variety. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and make sure each sentence has a complete main clause. Then add complexity gradually, ensuring subordinate clauses are grammatically complete.
