Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify a relevant cause: science is seen as difficult and time-consuming, and you also mention limited laboratory equipment and qualified teachers. However, the response addresses the task only partially. The effects section begins with “a less involvment and grraduate can reduce the nu” and is unfinished, so the consequences for society are not explained or supported with examples. The causes are also only briefly stated, with no specific illustration or development. The response is 137 words, below the required 250, which leaves major parts of the task unanswered. To improve, complete both parts of the question, explain how each cause leads to fewer science graduates, and develop societal effects such as skills shortages or slower technological progress with relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: “Firstly” introduces a cause and “secondly” signals a move to effects. This gives the reader some indication of the intended structure. However, progression is difficult to follow because the second paragraph stops mid-sentence, and the first paragraph contains a long, loosely connected sequence of ideas. The transition from the causes to the effects is not developed, while punctuation and sentence boundaries make relationships between points unclear. For example, “which they belive provide easier carrier opportunity” is attached awkwardly to the preceding idea. Use separate paragraphs for causes and effects, build each around a clear topic sentence, and connect explanations with accurate referencing and linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “development of modern society,” “qualified science teacher,” “salary,” and “career opportunity.” These choices show an attempt to discuss education and employment rather than relying entirely on general language. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling and word-form errors make several phrases difficult to understand, such as “manamgent,” “grraduate,” and “involvment.” Some collocations are also inaccurate: “science subject are considered as the difficult subject” and “complete the student” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Build a more accurate set of phrases for causes and effects, such as “perceived as demanding,” “limited career prospects,” and “a shortage of skilled graduates,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts some complex sentence forms, including “because science play an important role…” and a clause beginning “which they belive…,” but control is weak and the range remains limited. Errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently: “science play” should use a singular verb, while “one of the main cause” needs a plural noun. The opening also has unclear sentence boundaries and inconsistent capitalisation, and the final sentence is incomplete. These problems sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to follow. Practise writing complete simple sentences accurately first, then add subordinate clauses with clear subjects and verbs. Check agreement, articles, punctuation, and whether every sentence has a complete ending.
