Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, the number of students choosing to study computer science at university had decreased in many countries. This eassy will dicuss the main causes of this trend and examine its effects on society.

There are several reasons why fewer students choose to study science at university. One of the main causes is that science subjects are more challenging and requrie strong analytical skills. This is because they have to understand the concepts and keep working hard too study. For example, a student with moderat mindset can not able to understand the lessons. Another important reason is that students may believe that other courses offer better job opportunities are higher salaries , which makes students more likely to choose other fields of study.

This trend can have several negative effects om society. Firstly, A shortage of scientists and researchers. As a result, due to lack of scientists , there are no better medicines and other solution treatment to recover fastly. For instance , a patient is suffering from heart issue and he need a immediate tretment but there is no advance technology in some hospitals so there is no safety for people if they are facing any rare health problem. Secondly, slower progress in environmental protection this is because lack of science and research students not able to find the solution for the society. Therefore, a lack of science graduates may create serious challenges for society.

In conculsion, the decline in the number of students studying science is mainly caused by the other subjects the job marketing is high and there are offering better salarys. This can negatively affect society by effect of shortage of scientists and researchers and slow progress in medicine and technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify demanding science courses and the appeal of better-paid careers elsewhere as causes, then discuss possible effects on medicine, technology, and environmental protection. These ideas are relevant, and the example about a patient needing treatment helps illustrate the consequences. However, some effects are asserted rather than clearly explained: the link between fewer science graduates and a lack of effective medicines or hospital technology needs more precise development. The conclusion also introduces “job marketing” without clearly explaining the cause. To strengthen the response, explain each cause-and-effect link more fully and support the environmental impact with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “As a result” help readers follow the main points. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Firstly, A shortage of scientists and researchers” is a sentence fragment, and “As a result, due to lack of scientists” repeats the same relationship without clarifying it. The environmental-protection point also runs into its explanation without a clear sentence boundary. Use complete topic sentences, avoid repeating linkers, and make references such as “this trend” or “this” clearly point to a specific idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “analytical skills,” “job opportunities,” “scientists and researchers,” and “environmental protection.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “moderate mindset,” “recover fastly,” “heart issue,” and “job marketing.” Spelling errors such as “eassy,” “requrie,” and “conculsion” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of phrases for discussing education, employment, and scientific progress, and check spelling and word forms carefully. The suggestions below offer alternatives that fit your intended meanings.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause (“This is because…”) and a conditional example (“if they are facing…”). However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “a student … can not able to understand” needs a correctly formed modal construction, while “he need a immediate tretment” has agreement and article problems. “A shortage of scientists and researchers” is also a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and article use when revising. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to follow.
