Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some countries of the world students are not prioritizing study science at universities because studing science subject is not easy. Meanwhile, AI is dominating the scientific fields. It is demotivating students to study, deacrising number of scientists, and causing financial difficulties.
In the technological era, AI is dominating the science related fields espacially computer science and engineering. Because many people lose their jobs and struggling, inflation and poverty constantly increasing. For instance, according to a pridiction untill 2035, 30% people will lose their jobs, and especially software engineer and computer experts will be effected most.
However, learning science subjects is quite difficult due to this most of the under-graduates prioritize arts subject to study. Hundereds of students lack confidence, and they donot consider them capable of studing these typical subjects. Furthermore, studying science subjects can cause phycological issues as it require more concentration and time to study and understand certain topics. For example, students who study science subjects found more mentally disturbed, they face depression and anxiety.
Science subjects are not affordable to study, while students have to pay considerable amount of fee. Many of the schollars are self funded, they work to pway their expences so it is not easy for them to earn huge ammounts. For instance, in europe most of students work to afford their expenses, but science related course are not affordeble as it include practical work, research etc.
In conclusion, studing science courses are required huge ammount of money although they are beneficial, but not a piece of cake to study. On the other hand, AI is replacing technichal and scientific jobs, and poverty is not under controll anymore. Learning science also cause mentall illness in students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both causes and effects, identifying difficulty, cost, and concerns about AI as reasons students may avoid science, and linking fewer science graduates to employment and financial problems. However, the response only partially develops the task: the effects on society are less clearly explained than the causes, and some claims are not convincingly connected. For example, the prediction that 30% of people will lose jobs is presented without explaining how this follows from fewer university science students. The discussion of students’ anxiety also needs a clearer link to the wider social effects asked about. Develop each main point with a specific explanation and a relevant, credible example, and make your position on the causes and consequences clearer throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphs generally group related points, such as difficulty and confidence in one section and affordability in another. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the first body paragraph focuses on AI and job losses, while the later paragraphs introduce causes without showing how they relate to the effects. Connectors such as “Meanwhile,” “However,” and “Furthermore” are sometimes used mechanically or do not express the relationship precisely. The conclusion repeats several points rather than drawing them together. Use a clearer sequence—for example, explain the causes first, then the societal effects—and use linking phrases that explicitly show cause, contrast, or consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “scientific fields,” “under-graduates,” “inflation,” “poverty,” and “practical work,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are noticeable, sometimes making ideas harder to understand. Examples include “studing,” “deacrising,” “pridiction,” and “affordeble”; phrases such as “AI is dominating the science related fields” and “cause phycological issues” are also imprecise or unnatural. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “discourage students from pursuing science” and “the cost of science courses” would help express your points clearly without relying on repeated general wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “because studying science subjects is not easy” and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences often contain errors that make the reader pause. For example, “Because many people lose their jobs and struggling” is an incomplete construction with inconsistent verb forms, while “science related course are not affordable as it include practical work” has problems with agreement and sentence structure. Other examples include “studying science courses are required” and “Learning science also cause.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and verb forms. Greater control of these basics would make your ideas easier to follow.
