Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, enormous number of students in different countries are not choosing science subject. It may be due to the several reasons because most of the science subjects are difficult to understand and arts subject are easy for majority of the students.

There are several reasons why students are less interested in studying science at university. Firstly, scientific subjects such as physics, chemistry and biology require considerable effort, strong analytical skills and regular practice. As a result, many students prefer subjects that they consider easier or less demanding. Secondly, some students believe that science degrees offer fewer job opportunities or lower salaries than other fields, such as business and information technology. For example, students may choose business administration because they believe it will provide them with better career opportunities. In addition, a lack of well-equipped laboratories and experienced teachers in some educational institutions can reduce students' interest in science.

On the other hand, effect on society include the less emploment students even future is more toward the science and AI. So, it effective the society as less engineer and least people are availiablity for the development of te country. For instance, through science subjects many youth serve the country and taking part in the development of the country.

So, in a nutshell student should focus on the science subject for better future and government should provide them with the necessary condition and help to fulfill their universities admission requiremnts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both causes and effects, and the causes paragraph gives relevant explanations: science requires “considerable effort” and some students expect better prospects in business or IT. The example of choosing business administration also supports this point. However, the effects are much less clearly explained. The claim that society will have “less engineer” and fewer people available for development is relevant, but the link between fewer science graduates and specific consequences is not developed. Your conclusion shifts to advice for students and government rather than summarising the effects. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum. Develop the societal consequences with a concrete example and make the conclusion reflect your main answer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects and a conclusion. Sequencing within the causes paragraph is generally clear, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “For example” help the reader follow the points. However, progression is uneven: the effects paragraph is brief and its ideas are difficult to connect, while “On the other hand” does not clearly signal a contrast. The conclusion introduces recommendations rather than drawing together the discussion. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “it” in “it effective the society” are unclear. Use a fuller effects paragraph and connect each consequence explicitly to the shortage of science graduates.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “analytical skills,” “well-equipped laboratories,” “experienced teachers” and “career opportunities.” These choices help communicate the causes with reasonable specificity. However, the range is limited in the effects section, and several inaccurate word choices or forms make meaning less clear, such as “less emploment students,” “least people are availiablity” and “necessary condition.” Spelling errors, including “requiremnts” and “availiablity,” are also noticeable. Aim for precise phrases that describe the social impact, such as a “shortage of qualified engineers” or “slower technological development,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, and some are controlled effectively, for example, “As a result, many students prefer subjects that they consider easier or less demanding.” The sentence beginning “Firstly” also uses a clear list of requirements. However, errors are frequent, particularly in the effects paragraph and conclusion, and they sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “enormous number of students,” “effect on society include,” and “government should provide them with the necessary condition.” There are problems with articles, agreement, plurals and sentence construction. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete grammatical patterns; then proofread longer sentences for punctuation and clarity.
