Student answer (Band 5.0)
science is a kind of course in which students can learn about life not only humans but all other living beings. In the past people usually study science or engineering in universities as there were no knowledge abot other professions which can lead to a better career in terms of both money and respect.I explain my theisis on why people are showing less interest in science courses.
from my perspective people, in this modern area are not showing interest in science courses due to some reasons. One of them is that now people have much more knowledge about new career opportunities than the people in past, another reason is that in this modern era people don't want to work under an employer they want to work independently. This is the reason that professions related to computers are booming in this modern world.Third reason is that people know that there is no enough jobs for profession related to science. For instance one of my friends who was very close to me in college days, one day i met him on road we had a long talk sitting in a park nearby, he told me that he had bs in lab technology and has been struggling to find a job and is now working at a small pharmacy to meet his personal expenses.
In conclusion, government should focus on building more job opportunities for science related professions. Also it effects society very to very extent

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify several relevant causes, including greater awareness of alternative careers, a preference for independent work, and limited science-related employment. The example of your friend’s difficulty finding work gives one point some personal support. However, the response addresses the effects on society only minimally: the conclusion says that the situation affects society “very to very extent” but does not explain how. The opening also spends space defining science and describing the past rather than developing the task’s two questions. The response is 12 words below the required minimum, and this limits the opportunity to explain and support your ideas. To strengthen the answer, develop specific social consequences, such as shortages of researchers or healthcare professionals, and explain how each cause and effect operates.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the topic, the main paragraph lists causes and gives an example, and a concluding sentence offers a recommendation. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the effects question is not developed, and the conclusion introduces a government proposal without connecting it clearly to the preceding discussion. Linking phrases such as “another reason” and “Third reason” help signal a list, but the sequence becomes repetitive and some connections are unclear. The long anecdote also takes up much of the main paragraph without a clear link back to the wider social impact. Use separate paragraphs for causes and effects, and make each paragraph’s main point explicit before adding explanation or an example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “career opportunities,” “job opportunities,” “lab technology,” and “struggling to find a job.” The personal example also gives the response some specific language. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “modern era,” “science courses,” and “people don’t want to work under an employer.” Some word choices make meaning unclear, particularly “effects society very to very extent.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “abot” and “theisis,” also reduce accuracy. Build a more varied set of terms for causes and social consequences, and check collocations and spelling. For example, use “science-related careers” and “a shortage of qualified professionals” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences, including the sentence beginning “One of them is that now people have much more knowledge,” and the anecdote uses past and present-perfect forms. However, sentence structures are often faulty or run together, and punctuation is inconsistent. For example, “In the past people usually study science” has a tense problem, while “there is no enough jobs” has errors in determiner use and subject–verb agreement. The opening also joins sentences without a space after the full stop, and “I explain my theisis” does not form a clear grammatical sentence. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking tense, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
