Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many students nowadays are not want to study science related subjects at univerties of many countries because of less availibities of laboratories instruments which can be use for practical use in sceintific experiments. So due to which students dont have access to understand how science is important and useful in over life. As i am an agriculture student and i know how important is that to check and test the soil for better crop production, So if university agriculture department have not such instruments, chemicals, and other thing in laboratory to test the soil so student will not intrusted and take agriculture not seriously.

It has very bad effects on society. If there are not sceince students present so people will be not awear from modren scientific methods and technologies in any sector, as if there are no mechanical engeering students in a society so people and mechanic will only rely on old and outdated instruments using for this and not awear from latest solutions for different problems.

So we can understand, that in every sector bringing latest scientific technology is very much important to do improvement in that sector. So for this purpose our students should must be interested in science subjects. Government of these countries are also responsible to ensure that such type of facilities are provided to the Sceince related department of the univerties and instruct there faculty to introduce these to students and bring there interest in those subjects. also need to start such type compaign by universities to educate the people about its important. And this is important because limitation of sceince students are bad for both country, and society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you identify inadequate laboratory facilities as a cause and explain that a shortage of science graduates may leave society relying on outdated methods. The agriculture and mechanical-engineering examples make these points relevant. However, the response focuses mainly on facilities and does not explore other possible causes, such as career prospects or the perceived difficulty of science. The effects are also stated broadly; for example, the claim that people will not be aware of modern methods would be stronger with a specific consequence for health, industry, or the environment. Your final paragraph shifts towards recommendations, which are not requested, and the central ideas need fuller explanation and support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: a paragraph on causes, one on effects, and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader follow the main direction of your answer. You also use linking expressions such as “So” and “as if” to connect examples to claims. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly “So due to which,” and the long first paragraph combines several ideas without clear sentence boundaries. The conclusion introduces recommendations rather than simply drawing together the causes and effects. To improve progression, give each main idea a clear paragraph, use more precise referencing, and make the relationship between each example and its point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “laboratory,” “scientific experiments,” “crop production,” “mechanical engineering,” and “outdated.” These terms help communicate the subject and show an attempt to discuss science in different sectors. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand, such as “less availibities,” “not intrusted,” and “bring there interest.” Spelling errors, including “sceintific,” “univerties,” and “awear,” are also noticeable. Aim to learn accurate academic phrases for causes and consequences, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your examples clearer and reduce repetition of general terms such as “important” and “things.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional examples such as “if there are no mechanical engineering students…,” and you use clauses to explain consequences. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Many students nowadays are not want to study” needs a correct verb pattern, while “students dont have access to understand” has an unclear grammatical structure. Some sentences also run together, especially in the opening paragraph, and punctuation around “So” and “as” is inconsistent. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them using controlled subordinate clauses.
