Science is on of the most essential subject for the modern world. But in many countries, students demand for science subjects in universities have been decreasing. There are some causes and and negative consequences of this trend on the society.
One of the main reason why students have less interest on science subjects is that frequently they are difficult and advanced subjects and much affort is need compare to other subjects. Therefore, students need strong mathematical and anlytical skills for understand these subject. This may discourage students struggle with these skills.Another important factor is that many young people are attracted subjects like business and arts. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you identify difficulty and competition from business and arts as causes, then explain possible shortages in research staff and effects on education and economic growth. These points are relevant, but several are asserted rather than developed. For example, explain more specifically why science courses are demanding or how fewer researchers would affect everyday life, and support the employment comparison with a relevant example. The conclusion is unfinished (“In conclusion,”), so the response does not provide a complete final summary. The required minimum length is not met: the response contains 225 words, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. A fuller response with a completed conclusion would address the task more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on effects, and the start of a conclusion. Connectors such as “Therefore,” “As a result,” and “First and foremost” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the effects paragraph is not always clear: the move from a shortage of scientists to university staffing and then economic growth needs more explicit explanation. Some linking is repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “As a result,” and the conclusion is left incomplete, weakening the overall shape. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each consequence step by step, while ensuring the final paragraph actually summarises the main causes and effects.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “research and development,” “scientific discoveries,” “innovations,” and “economic growth,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some attempt to vary expressions, such as “qualified professionals” and “skilled workforce.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise: “students demand for science subjects” is awkward, while “affort,” “anlytical,” and “reaserch” are misspelled. Phrases such as “better employment opportunities” are repeated without further specificity. Build accuracy by learning common academic collocations and checking spelling, and choose precise terms such as “enrolment in science degrees” or “shortage of research scientists.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “This is because often they provide better employment opportunities” and a longer explanation beginning “This is because most world famous universities…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “One of the main reason,” missing or incorrect articles in “on the society” and “create shortage,” and faulty verb forms in “an impact” and “may went downward.” The sentence “These are essential for modern world. it may have a impact…” also has a sentence-boundary and capitalisation problem. Practise accurate agreement, articles, and modal verb patterns (“may decline”), then proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
