Student answer (Band 5.5)
Science is the way to unlock the wonders of the nature. In each era, there have been the genius scientists, that have lead the carvan of the scientific revolutions. While science has been the core area of interest of students of knowledge for many decads, this century has come up with contrary idea. People are now less inclined toward science and more towards arts. In my perspective, social media is now one of the driving force of shaping the interests of the youth towards their fields. The way arts is being promoted on social media is one of the reason students have started taking interests in arts more than science. Another reason could be the amount any profession is paid for. For example, the scientists, although serving science for the whole of their life have not gotten much financial freedom that artists can get. As evident from the recent studies that money is one of the driving force the influence the choice of profession. Due to the reason of scientific profesions being low paying, students are not much attracted towards them.
This could lead towards catestrophic effects on the society. Shortage of scientists to get scientific knowledge can cause serious harms towards society. One of the major effect will be the reduction of scientfic innovations, that have always helped mankind. The reduction to such advancements can make the life difficult. Another problem that it could cause is the lack of logical reasoning among students. Art is creative but science is logical. Therefore lack of any of these two can have serious impacts on society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question by identifying possible causes—social-media promotion of the arts and the perceived financial rewards of different careers—and describing effects such as fewer scientific innovations and weaker logical reasoning. These points are relevant, but the response only partially develops them. For example, the claim that artists can gain more financial freedom than scientists needs a clearer explanation or a specific example, and the social-media point is asserted rather than illustrated. The effects are also broad: explain how reduced innovation might affect areas such as medicine, technology, or environmental solutions. Your general position is understandable, but a more precise explanation of each cause and effect would make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: the first paragraph discusses causes, and the second turns to effects. This helps the reader follow the main direction. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are introduced without being fully connected or explained. For instance, the move from social-media influence to pay is abrupt, while “Art is creative but science is logical” does not clearly establish why fewer science students would reduce logical reasoning across society. Linking phrases such as “Another contributing factor” and “As a result” could clarify relationships, but they should accompany fuller explanation rather than replace it. Develop each main point in a clear sequence: claim, explanation, and example or consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “scientific innovations,” “financial freedom,” and “logical reasoning,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, word choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the message less clear. Examples include “the wonders of the nature,” “driving force of shaping,” “catestrophic effects,” and “scientfic innovations.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “students of knowledge” and “serving science” do not sound natural in this context. Aim for accurate, conventional academic phrasing and check spelling carefully. A more controlled range of terms such as “career prospects,” “research funding,” and “scientific progress” would help you express the causes and effects more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, including “Although serving science for the whole of their life…” and the sentence beginning “As evident from the recent studies…”. However, these longer constructions are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence structure recur. For example, “one of the driving force” needs a plural noun, while “the scientists … have not gotten” has an unclear subject and awkward construction. The opening sentence also uses an unnecessary article in “the nature.” These issues can make some relationships difficult to follow. Practise building complex sentences around a clear subject and main verb, then check agreement and article use; shorter, accurate sentences are preferable to unfinished or overloaded structures.
