Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant causes—limited job prospects and the perceived difficulty of science—and attempt to explain social effects through unemployment, frustration and crime. However, the response is incomplete: the second cause is cut off, and the effects are not developed beyond a broad, unsupported link between unemployment and crime. The opening also promises an explanation but ends mid-sentence. The response contains 206 words, so it is 44 words below the 250-word minimum; 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. To address the task more fully, complete both parts, explain each cause-effect link carefully, and add a relevant example or qualification rather than making sweeping claims about graduates and crime.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an emerging structure: an introduction is followed by a paragraph on employment and another beginning with the difficulty of science studies. Connectors such as “First” and “Furthermore” help signal the intended sequence. However, the response does not form a complete, coherent argument: the introduction breaks off, the final paragraph ends mid-sentence, and there is no conclusion. Some links are also unclear, particularly the move from graduates’ unemployment to their involvement in crime, which needs explanation. The repeated opening phrase “There are some particular reasons” and the abrupt “However” transitions make progression feel mechanical. Use complete paragraphs, give each one a clear focus, and finish by summarising the causes and effects.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “job market,” “graduation,” “unemployment,” “mental health pressure,” and “equations.” This gives the response enough language to communicate its main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause: “effects greatly on society,” “too many competetion,” and “low developing countries” are examples. Spelling errors such as “frustrate,” “commited,” and “robbary” also reduce precision. Aim for accurate collocations and a more varied set of terms for causes and social consequences. Proofreading spelling and choosing conventional academic phrasing would make your ideas clearer and more credible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, including a time clause in “Students became very frustrate after their graduation, when they could not get a job.” However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include “every students should choose,” “this trend are slowly removing,” and “many students are not choose science,” where agreement or verb forms are faulty. The opening sentence beginning “And this trend…” is also awkwardly attached, and the introduction and final paragraph are incomplete. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, then check that each sentence has a complete main clause. Building reliable simple sentences before adding subordinate clauses will help you express the cause-and-effect relationships more clearly.
