Student answer (Band 5.5)
recently it is evident in many countries that students are hesistant to choose science as their major in universities and colleges . There is a steady decline in number of students choosing science as compared to previous years .
One of the major cause of this is the take over of ai and computer science over the world. We have already seen that ai is replacing jobs andhas taken over over the globe with its advancement so students are more intrested in chosing ai technology and computer science as thoer higher education the world entirely over the last decades shift to technology most of the jobs in the market are rekated to computer science and managmnet field and people with these degress are getting jobs and gettinmg higher salaries as compare to medical students eg if i see myself i choose microbiology of the major field of science and am not getting a single job offer after my graduaion on the other hand my friends that choose mangament and computer science are getting jobs .
one of the major effect it have on society is that in recent years the number of science students would decline and it would effect the research sector badly and it would be very harmfull for the well being of society and mankind eg if we see the covid 19 case there was a pendemic and the only sector that helped us was the scientit snd researches without them it would not be possible to eradicate such a wide speread pendamic so in future it would affect the health care sector and primarily the society well being .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you suggest that technology-related fields attract students because they offer more jobs and higher salaries, and you explain that fewer science graduates could weaken research and healthcare. The microbiology example and the reference to COVID-19 help make these points relevant. However, the response develops only one main cause, and the explanation of why science is less attractive could be clearer and more fully supported. The effects are also stated broadly; for example, explain more specifically how reduced research capacity could affect medical innovation or public health. A clearer position and fuller development of both causes and effects would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: it introduces the issue, discusses a cause, and then describes an effect. This helps the reader identify the main points, and examples are placed near the ideas they support. However, the body paragraphs contain long, crowded sequences of ideas, particularly the paragraph beginning “One of the major cause,” where employment, salaries, personal experience, and changes in the job market run together. Connections between points are sometimes unclear, and linking phrases such as “on the other hand” do not fully organise the argument. Use clearer paragraph development, shorter sentences, and explicit links showing how each explanation supports the main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “research sector,” “higher education,” “salaries,” and “health care sector,” which allows you to communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “take over of AI,” “jobs in the market are related to computer science,” and “society well being.” Frequent spelling errors—including “hesistant,” “intrested,” and “pendemic”—also make the writing less clear and reduce precision. Aim to learn accurate academic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for employment prospects, research capacity, and public health would help express your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas using longer sentences and clauses, but the range of structures is limited and many sentences are difficult to follow because of frequent grammatical errors. For example, “One of the major cause of this is” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “one of the major effect it have on society” contains errors in both agreement and sentence structure. The sentence beginning “the world entirely over the last decades shift to technology” is also incomplete or unclear, making the relationship between ideas hard to understand. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are often missing, especially in the long body paragraphs. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled subordinate clauses.
