Student answer (Band 5.0)
With changes in the prespective of the younger generation, applicants of scince in universities are declining in many countries these days. It has both negative and positive effects on the society.
To begin with, the students are not interested in science as, it needs hardwork and dedication to study this subject in comaprison with other studies. For instance arts, drama etcetera. Students are dependent on AI for their assigments .Which is diminishg their intellectual levels. It is very concerning for the society because science is necessary for the growth and development of a country and if, students kept neglecting this subject our future will completely be in the hands of robots.
Students are brainwashed by social media and instead of choosing studies they are more focused on making money through various online platforms. its not only ruining their future but also effects society, as science education is fundamental key for growth and development.
On the other side, students not choosing scince benefits the society in other sectors like, economics, arts, media and entertainment. which brings alot of money in the country. Students who choose science were not able to handle the pressure of the studies which leads to rapid increase in suicidies and depression in the younger generations.
In conclusion, Science is important for country growth but not at cost of students lives. Although without science the country can not develop

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both causes and effects, identifying perceived difficulty, AI use, and social-media influence as possible causes, and discussing consequences for national development and young people’s wellbeing. However, the ideas are limited and often asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that students’ future will be “in the hands of robots” needs a clearer link to fewer science graduates. The positive effect of students entering economics, arts, and media is also introduced without showing how this follows from the trend or balancing it against the main concern. Your position is not fully consistent, since you call the effects both negative and positive but conclude that science is essential. The response is 19 words below the required minimum, which also limits the development of your points. Add specific examples and explain each cause-and-effect link more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting causes and effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other side,” and “In conclusion” help signal movement between sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some ideas are placed together without a clear connection. For instance, the discussion moves from AI use to national development and then to social media without explaining how these points relate. The contrast introduced by “On the other side” is also unclear because the benefits of other sectors are not directly compared with the effects of fewer science students. Some linking is mechanical, and punctuation around connectors is inconsistent. Group causes and effects more distinctly, then use clear references and transitions to show how each point supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “dedication,” “intellectual levels,” “growth and development,” and “depression,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less precise, such as “prespective,” “scince,” “comaprison,” and “effects society.” Phrases such as “brainwashed by social media” and “a lot of money in the country” are broad or informal for an academic essay. Repetition of “growth and development” also reduces variety. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “pursue science degrees,” “career prospects,” and “economic contribution.” Proofreading spelling and choosing more precise academic expressions would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if students kept neglecting this subject…” and a relative clause in “which leads to rapid increase…”. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. Examples include “Students are dependent on AI for their assignments. Which is diminishing…” where the second part is an incomplete sentence, and “Students who choose science were not able to handle…” where the tense does not fit the general claim. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “science is fundamental key” and “the country can not develop.” Use complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement and articles, and practise combining ideas with accurate subordinate clauses.
