Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, study science becomes a topic of debate in many societies. A large number of graduate not prefer to study science subject in the institution because they do not have interest in science and also there are several other fields.
One of the main cause is students have less interest. Science is a complicated and tough subject due to this majority of young graduate not prefer it. It requires a strong mindset and commitment to studying this field and many left in the middle. In addition, there are others vital subjects at university that attract pupils attentions and easy to study. Such as engineering, teaching and IT, these types of subjects are also important and well paying. Therefore, majority of students are selecting those fields rather than science. As a result, institutes have low number of graduate who choose science.
It has several effect on the society such as less doctor in the country. When there is low number of science students at university thats why less doctor pass out and available in the society. For instance, country need 1000 doctor in each year but only 500 are passing out. It increase work load on them and patients work more hours to checkup and treatments. Hiring doctor from outside will ne expensive and increase liabilities.
In conclusion, selecting fileds totaly depends on students, but science is the main subject and it shloud be studied by all students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both causes and effects, and your main position—that students avoid science because it seems difficult and other subjects appear more attractive—is identifiable. The example comparing 1,000 doctors needed with 500 graduating also helps illustrate a possible social consequence. However, the response only partially develops the task: the causes are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the effects focus almost entirely on doctor shortages, without exploring wider consequences such as reduced research or innovation. The conclusion says science should be studied by all students but does not clearly follow from the discussion. The response is 13 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop relevant ideas. Add explanation and a further specific effect to address the question more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on effects, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally understandable, and signposts such as “One of the main cause,” “In addition,” and “For instance” help show how ideas relate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear or repetitive. For example, the explanation that science is difficult, requires commitment, and leads students to leave midway could be connected more explicitly, while “Therefore” and “As a result” repeat the same consequence. The effects paragraph also moves from doctor numbers to workload and overseas hiring without clearly explaining each link. Use clearer referencing and organise each paragraph around a developed main point, with transitions that show cause and consequence precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “commitment,” “work load,” “patients,” and “hiring doctor from outside,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “graduate” for students or graduates, “pupils attentions,” “less doctor,” and “increase liabilities.” Spelling errors such as “totaly,” “shloud,” and “fileds” also reduce accuracy. Aim to use precise academic collocations and check word forms: for instance, describe a “shortage of doctors” and the “financial cost of recruiting overseas.” Building a small set of topic-specific phrases would help you express causes and social effects more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause in “Science is a complicated and tough subject due to this…” and a conditional example beginning “When there is low number…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the relationships between ideas. Examples include “A large number of graduate not prefer,” “One of the main cause,” and “It increase work load,” which show problems with agreement and verb forms. Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “there is low number of science students” and the fragment “Such as engineering, teaching and IT.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentences before adding more complex clauses; this will make your meaning more reliable.
