Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify a relevant cause: some students find science difficult, particularly its mathematical content, and therefore choose subjects such as arts or business. However, the response addresses the causes much more than the effects on society. The final lines begin to suggest that universities need better teachers, but this is not developed into a clear effect or a complete response to both questions. Ideas such as a shortage of scientists affecting healthcare, technology, or the economy would directly answer the second part. The response also contains only 178 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough explanation or relevant support. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is an attempt to organise the response: “Firstly” introduces a cause, and “For this issue” signals a later point. The reader can generally identify that the topic is students avoiding science. However, the ideas do not progress through a clear structure, and the response ends abruptly with “it,” leaving the final point incomplete. Several ideas are repeated—for example, that science is difficult and students choose other subjects—rather than being grouped and extended. The linking phrases “On the other hand” and “furthermore” do not always show a clear relationship between the points. Use separate paragraphs for causes and social effects, and connect each sentence to the preceding idea with precise referencing and logical transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “mathematical terms,” “science subject,” “university,” and names of alternative fields such as “arts” and “business studies.” This gives the response a basic connection to the question. However, the range is limited and several expressions are unclear or inaccurately formed, such as “different catagoris,” “science catagori,” and “our envernment.” Repetition of “difficult” and “subject” also limits precision. Spelling errors, including “studiends,” “dificalte,” and “chooss,” make the writing less clear. Build a more accurate set of topic vocabulary and use natural collocations, such as “pursue a science degree” and “a shortage of qualified scientists,” while checking spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “because students becoming more different…” and “Although lot of students are more layzi…,” showing an effort to use subordinate clauses. However, these structures are often incomplete or incorrectly formed, and most sentences contain errors that make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “students becoming” without an appropriate finite verb, “science are,” and “they do not choosing.” Articles and plural forms are also frequently missing or inconsistent, as in “some of students” and “several student.” The final sentence, “every university should involve much more better teacher.it,” is grammatically unfinished. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with correct subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
