Student answer (Band 5.5)

In multiple countries less number of students are selecting to study science in there university. There are various causes for it. Like, it is hard to study, cost and so on. Which will become hard to create new technology, understanding about nature to the people because science help to understand it and create innovations.

If the students not taking the science in their college there can numerous reasons for it. Firstly, there multiple subjects in science which are difficult to understand and it will create stress among them. Also it will impact on student confidense. So that's why multiple students afraid to fail in exams.

Also, some students are not able to take financial burden. Because if they want to take science there is a lot of cost to students. In science, there practical classes, projects which required a high quality equipment and that is costly most of the time. That financial impact on them will cost in there personal life. So, that's why multiple number of students are not taking science in there colleges.

The effect of this situation will impact on humans. Because science is they key to find solutions in daily life problems. It will open the door to create new things. The innovations or making current technologies better will become slow. If there are less number of people who understands science then it will create burden on them. The unemployment will be increased in other fields because students are taking other fields rather than science and science field will start decreasing which is not good thing for economy.

In conclusion, the students afraid of failing in exams, the cost for science course is affecting for admission in science college. Which creates economical and employment problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you identify difficulty and financial cost as causes, then discuss possible effects on innovation, technology and the economy. These points are relevant, and the conclusion returns to the main causes and consequences. However, the response only partially develops them. For example, you say science subjects are difficult and may cause stress or fear of failure, but do not explain why students see them as especially challenging or how universities might contribute. The effects are also broad: the link between fewer science graduates and increased unemployment in other fields is asserted rather than explained. Add specific, plausible examples and develop the cause-and-effect links so the response answers the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and effects, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main direction of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several linking phrases are mechanical or awkward, such as “So, that's why” and the repeated use of “Also.” Some sentences begin with “Because” or “Which,” leaving their connection to the previous sentence incomplete. References such as “this situation” are understandable but could be more precise. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it; use a wider range of accurate links rather than repeating the same connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “financial burden,” “practical classes,” “equipment,” “innovations” and “unemployment.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. Examples include “less number of students,” “take the science,” “the effect … will impact,” and “create burden.” There are also spelling errors, such as “confidense,” and repeated reliance on general words such as “multiple,” “cost” and “things.” Build a more precise vocabulary for describing university study and social consequences, and check whether words combine naturally before using them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic cause-and-effect structures, but the range of sentence forms is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. For example, “If the students not taking the science” lacks an auxiliary verb, while “there practical classes” and “science is they key” contain errors with verb forms or articles. Several sentence fragments also interrupt the flow, including “Like, it is hard to study, cost and so on” and “Which will become hard to create new technology.” Agreement and sentence construction need attention in phrases such as “people who understands science.” Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check articles, agreement and punctuation.
