Student answer (Band 5.0)

Science has totaally changed our thinking it has a large positive effect. In past, life are dull and drab people spent most of their time in their working field. After science life is totally changed. Although this most of the students are not choosing science subjects when thery are in university. I share my experience with the relevant example.

The first main reason is lack of knowledge. Students spent lot of time in their time in the study field they thought that the science subject is very tough and diificult, they just read books not do any science experiments that is why thery said that the lscience is very tough. The other reason is lack of confidence. Students just read things and lessons and do not practical work on it so that is why they did ot explain all things and forget it. I give a relevant example, if a student just read things only not do any practical work in science subject, they will not be able to explain those topics after some time.

If students not choose science subjects and not know about the knowledge of science, it has a very negetive impacts on society. Coming life is tptally science life. If students not study science subject we will go there where we start the life. Second will not be able to progress in our life. All things are very difficuilt if science has decreased. Planes, industries and other things will be not able to run. It has a very negative impacts.

In conculision, science is very important in our daily life without it life is very tough. The need is only that we do practical work in this science field.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both causes and effects, identifying perceived difficulty and lack of confidence as reasons students avoid science, and suggesting that fewer science students could hinder progress in areas such as planes and industry. However, the response only partially develops the task: the causes overlap because both focus on students’ limited practical experience, and the effects are asserted rather than explained. For example, “we will go there where we start the life” does not clearly show how society would be affected. The opening and conclusion mainly state that science is important, rather than establishing a clear, sustained answer. Develop distinct causes and explain specific consequences with relevant examples to make your response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on effects, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and links between ideas are often mechanical or unclear. Phrases such as “The first main reason,” “The other reason,” and “Second” signal points, but the relationship between them is not always developed. The example about a student who only reads science material repeats the preceding claim rather than extending it. Some references, including “this” and “there,” have unclear meanings. Use a clearer sequence of cause, explanation, and example, and connect each effect explicitly to the shortage of science graduates.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant terms, including “science subjects,” “practical work,” “confidence,” and “society,” so the main topic is generally recognisable. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with “science,” “life,” and “very difficult” appearing repeatedly. Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate and make meaning harder to follow, such as “in their working field,” “Coming life is totally science life,” and “science has decreased.” Spelling errors such as “diificult,” “negetive,” and “conculision” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider range of precise terms for causes and social consequences, and check spelling and natural word combinations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “if,” but the range is limited and these structures are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur frequently: “life are dull,” “Students spent,” and “If students not choose” need more accurate tense and auxiliary use. Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “in past” and “The need is only that we do practical work in this science field.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand, particularly in the effects paragraph. Practise forming accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “if,” and “as a result.” Check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and clear punctuation.
